Default SBD Daily Chat - Tues. Feb. 22

Good early morning! Woke at three for some reason and just could not get back to sleep. This just might be a nap day. I have things to do but am not expecting company so ...

Just checked the local weather. They usually have a child's drawing and I found this which I just love! The carrot stealing bunnies make me smile!

Time for another coffee and to make a list of the day's niggles to clear. Then I can nap without guilt this afternoon. The dogs have already gone back to bed! Maybe I should do the same.

Happy Tuesday. Find something to smile about.

Good Morning

Hi Ruth! Yes, today might be a great day for a nap! Love the pic!

I've been out with the pups and might go back to bed. I've got to travel over the hill tomorrow and stay overnight for a meeting. Kirk is going to stay on with the pups here...so I think I'll make that list a little later and try to stay home today.

Food is on track. I'm grateful for that. Have a great day everyone!

Morning, Ruth! Thanks for sharing that drawing - sure is adorable! We promised the kids we could get rabbits in Hawaii. Bet they won't be stealing any snowmen's carrots!

Hi, Debbie! Hope you get another couple minutes' snooze!

Lukas and I were going to go for a walk this morning but it was too windy and cold for my blood (probably positively balmy for most of you but I was shivering) so we came back home and did a Walk Away the Pounds video instead. Then we got a bath. And it must have been an exhausting workout because now the baby's asleep on my shoulder.

Laundry's done and I really should be folding it but this child is just so precious. A couple more minutes of snuggles and I'll get to the clothes. They're not going anywhere.

Have a good Tuesday!

Enjoy the snuggling Kara! As you know they grow up so fast.

Since I was out of work last Thursday and most of Friday, and yesterday was a holiday, I feel all off kilter. Luckily there is nothing pressing at the office right now which is good. And, I am taking Friday off so another long weekend! Just like my son I get very thrown off when our routine changes. Good news is he enjoyed his minicamp yesterday and is happy to go back today.

I'm struggling to get myself back on track. Good thing about the mini camp is that I walk from there to the office, which is about an hour. So I'm getting some good exercise in. Hope everyone has a great day!

Guess what we have?

Ruth, that picture sure did give me something to smile about, I love it! Get yourself a good nap today!

Debbie, I hope you were able to go back to bed for a few more hours.

Kara, enjoy your snuggling and cuddling. Those baby years are so precious and go by so fast!

I'm going to enjoy my coffee and wait until it's light outside before going out with Jake to deal with this snow. At least I can take my time getting out to Cindy's, and the roads should be fine by then.

Ruth - love the picture! LOL, I thought he was giving him a kiss at first, he's just stealing the carrot!!

Lexiss - good morning! YAY on the food being on track...you must've had the same chat with yourself that I did .

Kara - I've loved seeing/hearing all your trips while in Europe, are you going to feel a little confined in Hawaii?!?! How long are you supposed to be there?

Me - Hello all! Feeling great after two clean days. No overeating, no eating the kids' mini-junk food items. I decided too, to cut back on meat, so didn't eat the pork tenderloin last night. The other stuff was too yummy anyway!

It's a late delay today for school (looks like cottage got some too!), so I'll have to bring the kids with me to work for a wee bit. In a minute, I'm getting on the bike, then making a crock pot supper that I adore.

Have a great one!

Good morning I'm off to an 8am meeting and DW is off bird chasing so lots of rushing around here this morning. I will definitely be back midday and will check-in then (Unlike yesterday which spiraled out of control). Have a good morning friends.

I am getting used to the new coffee maker and made the coffee so strong this morning that it hurts. But it's a good hurt. Just means I won't be able to have more later... We got a few inches of the snow, just enough to get school canceled, blah. Today is my only day this week I don't have to go out, and didn't get much work done yesterday due to computer issues, so I HAVE to be super productive today. The kids better not cramp my style. I've got a list of jobs all ready for them when they get up.

Happy Birthday to Heidi!

Wow, Matilda, that's quite a walk! Is the weather nice for it?

Linda, your big-eyed snowman is hilarious! Drive safely today!

Tammy, we've wondered whether we're going to feel a bit cramped on the island. Luckily, we can hop a ride on the cargo planes if we need to get ourselves back to the mainland, and there are a lot of hikes and trips we're planning between the islands themselves so we should be OK. We try to make the best of every assignment and I really don't think it'll be too big a stretch to enjoy three years in Hawaii. This assignment will put Tom a year past the minimum retirement age, so he'll have the option to stay in or get out after we're done there. We'll see how things shake out. He's always said he's going to get out right at 20 years but I kind of think he might want to stay in once the time gets closer. His retirement check will be half of the average of his last three years' pay so if he makes his next rank he'll probably end up staying in a bit just for that. You never know what's going to happen. I sure couldn't have guessed we would have lived in nine houses in five states and three different countries on three continents when we got married eleven years ago!

Cyndi, hope the meeting goes well!

Schmoodle, good luck getting your work done!

I got the laundry done after all, and practiced my flute for church, too. Connor just walked in the door so it's time for homework and violin practice before we go get the girls from Kindy.

Morning girls. Only enough time for a quick hello and goodbye.

Would someone inform my son that 5:30 is not an appropriate wake-mommy-up time?

Have a great day, girls!

Good morning ladies! Thank you for the birthday greetings!

I'm still at my mom's and this has been kind of a bittersweet morning - the first time we've celebrated my birthday without my dad. We've had lots of fun remembering things though.

We're headed to the Senior Center this morning at 10:00 for a crafting session. My mom's been talking about going for months now but hasn't wanted to go alone and this is the first time I've been able to be here on a Tuesday to go along with her. We were just saying that I should have waited an extra week to get rid of my gray, so that I'll blend in better there this morning. I told my mom I'm not expecting to see much gray hair there anyway - the last time we went to something like that I had more gray hair than anyone else there. LOL

Later this afternoon I need to work some more on the thick ice in her front door yard. It's treacherous and the sun doesn't get to it. My mom has been driving her car to the end of the driveway to get her mail because it's too dangerous to walk on. I put kitty litter on it when I first arrived and that's helped some but I'm hoping it will get above 32 today and I might be able to hack some of it away.

Enjoy your Tuesday - I feel a little bit guilty reading about those of you who have to work today. I sure appreciate this winter vacation. The kids need it and I needed it too!

Good morning!

I have book club tonight which is always an eating struggle for me. Fingers crossed she has at least something OP - it's hard to sit and eat NOTHING. We read Sarah's Key which I enjoyed. But, we hardly talk about the book

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

Back to the hospital I go. My uncle really struggled yesterday, so I ended up there till almost 9 p.m. My aunts and uncles from other parts of the country start arriving today. I called in a sub, so first I have to go write lesson plans. Hopefully, today he will start to get better and there will be no more set backs.

Have a great Tuesday!!

Morning everyone .

Gorgeous day here. Although a bit cold this morning, the sun is out and I will be walking in a little while. The birds are out by the feeders waiting for breakfast so I need to get moving.

Spring is just around the corner because yesterday I heard and saw a huge batch of Canadian Honkers gathering and flying north. They have a very special call when doing that and I am so thrilled every Spring and Fall when I get to witness it.

Oh Kara I so miss that snuggling with a little one. It has been years and years but hope is on the way as we just found out that we are going to be great grandparents for the first time and the good news is that they live close so it will be a hands on experience for us once again.

Tanner'smom, Sending good thoughts for you and your family this morning. Hope your uncle shows some improvement today.

I set my mind and accomplished a good on plan day yesterday so going to do it again today! Just have to plant my feet and dig in.

Hope we all eat healthy today and perhaps even get some exercise in. Take care and talk to you tomorrow.
