Default Alcohol

I know, I know... Alcohol is a no no if you are dieting. An occasional after work drink is something I really look forward to. I usually have one, sometimes two drinks. Never more than that. I don't drink daily.

Any ideas, strategies on how to deal with alcohol when trying to lose weight. I would really feel hard done by if I couldn't have "just one". How are the drinkers out there coping?

I LOVE wine. The thought of never drinking it scares me! Before Christmas, I was drinking way too much but I have seriously cut down now. Maybe a few glasses of wine once a week.
On saturday night, my friend and I went a bit crazy on the wine and I was really worried I had ruined my efforts so far! I had been stuck at 134lbs for aaaaaged, But on Tuesday when I weighed, I was down 2lbs! And was still down 2lbs today! So I think wine is actually good for weight loss

I work it into my plan. I have 1 beer most nights with dinner. On Friday I go out with friends and have 2. Hasn't stalled my weight loss.

Oh, beloved white russians...and Moscato D'Asti...two of my alcoholic vices I used to drink one or the other almost every other night before Christmas, and when I started calorie counting I just nixed them. I've had two alcoholic drinks since January 1st and it actually doesn't bother me not to drink as much...it was really more of a habit and one that was easily broken. But, I do know the days that I really need a drink, and that's when I've had my white russians!

If you must have a drink do something like a diet coke and jack or rum or a wine drink or something. I'd stay away from mixed sugary drinks.

I like drinking also but for me nothing tastes as good as thin feels so I'm holding off on alcohol for a while.

Once in a while I plan for a glass of wine with dinner - it hasn't affected my weight loss

I don't drink, but my husband does. On the days he chooses to partake in his beer, he'll cut his calories down during the day to allow for the indulgence. I say everything is fine in moderation, and if it fits into your plan.

I drink wine and rum and diet coke. It's all about calories in vs. out, so if you work it into your plan you'll be fine. Just beware of drunk hunger! One thing I promised myself is that I would not have a few drinks and then binge on food. So far, so good.

Something about alcohol totally stalls my weight loss...no matter how small the amount! Therefore I haven't had one drink since I started my journey to get fit and healthy.

That doesn't mean that applies to everyone. I know plenty of people who fit alcohol into their calorie budget and lose just fine. I guess it depends on how YOUR BODY reacts to it.
