Hi everyone. I just found this wonderful site by using Google and trying to
find the best way to lose 100 lbs quickly. I am a small frame 5'3" chick that was a good size when I weighed about 125 lbs. Well, it's been YEARS since I
was that small. Even before I started having my babies! Main problem is I easily pack on the pounds and I have no willpower. I mean none. The tiniest little thing will make me just give up. I can not weigh everyday. If I've been sticking to my diet and I weigh and find that I've gained weight (even a quarter of a lb) that's it. I just give up. I'm trying to change that. I'm 43 and had my last baby (a suprise) 2 weeks after my 40'th birthday. I found that I had insulin dependent gestational diabetes and was on a strict diet. I knew what a diabetic diet was because my husband has been a type 1 diabetic since he was 16 months old. I stuck to my diet like glue because of the baby.
As a result I only gained 10 lbs during my pregnancy! Why can I make my mind up to do it when it's for the baby, but not when it's for me???
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but it's time for me to get busy. I'm high risk for diabetes, high bp and heart disease and I want to do it so that my kids won't be embarrassed by their mom and so that I'll be around for them. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines because of my weight and I want to feel sexy again!
We have a very busy month so I've decided to gather info and research to start a weight loss plan/way of life March 1. I need to lose 100 lbs, but I'd be tickled to get below 170. (That's 65 lbs!, Whew!)
I've already learned a lot from you guys and you have inspired me. Forgot to mention that we are broke so whatever I do have to be along the lines of cutting back not joining some weight loss program. I am also a stay at home mom to an almost 14 year old and a 3 year old and I homeschool them.
Thanks for having this site. I'm excited to get started!
(sorry this was so long)
