  • Hi and welcome to 3FC its great for support when dieting.
My plan is not far of what you are doing just being more sensible with food and making the right choices. I am exercising but I am so unfit I am starting it slowly like walking for an hour a day and some light Pilate's.
Sorry to here of your recent split. You have to look on the positive though its good for motivation on your diet.
Good luck honey and keep posting on how your getting on, the ladies on here are great for support
    xx

Hi. I am also new (well been lurking but don't really post). I am counting calories. This is week 3 and its going fine - I have lost 7 pounds so far. I have tried other plans but in the past its the only one that really works for me. I eat home cooked meals and low fat yoghurts , a lot of fruit and drink loads of water. I do keep some weight watchers cakes and low fat crisps for when I want to indulge. I hope to go lower carb in the future. I am not exercising yet as I am getting over a broken leg.
  • Hi - new here
    Hi

I am starting for the countless time w8 - i did do it before and like the quick results IF you stick with it - had a bad day yesterday - today am compensatng by doing 2 packs and water - had loads last night and still feel groggy - want to lose 3 stone - think this is a good plae to help - lets do it
  • hey everyone thanks for the replys
yeah marie the split is motivation to get back in shape, i cant see myself dating anyone while my confidence is this low!
i havent really been counting calories but have been watching them, checking the calorie and fat content is low on the stuff i buy. i need to find some low fat recipes though, im not used to all these ready meals! i have tried a lot of diets in the past slimfast, ww, atkins etc but although i lost weight i couldnt keep it off. atkins was horrible! so its more of a lifestyle change than a diet. 5 stone to lose, sounds impossible but i know others have done it so no reason why i cant.
  • My plan is just to write everything down and make some switches from stodge to foods that fill me up without piling on the calories. My biggest change is having soup for lunch with a toasted wholemeal pitta every weekday. I need to up my exercise but so far I've lost 17lb this year.

There's a healthy eating plan that works for everyone, wish it hadn't taken me 36 years to find mine.
  • Well mine is kind of weighwatchers but not as much. Have a calorie allowance every day and write down my foods and calroies in a tracker, try to do 30-60 mins exercise a day, have not been doing as much of this lately. Then every week I do the weigh in with other half, he supervises and I put it on the chart I made and stuck to the front of the fridge and I put £5 in my clothes fund jar for when I'm smaller. So, bits of WW in there and I find the tracking and seeing the chart on the fridge helps keep me motivated. Plus, the fact that I'm calorie counting means I can eat what I like as long as I'm under target. Also, I give myself 1 evening off a week and have what I want but I'm finding that when I eat healthily all week, the less appealing the junk food actually is. Sorry this is so long, hope it helps.
  • Hi I have followed strict plans in the past and obviously looking at my weight they havent worked. I have problems with binge eating so this time I am just eating 3 good meals each day and avoiding all junk and processed food. I have gone 34 days without binging and if i feel hungry I just eat soup to fill me up. I am not counting calories but just trying to eat healthy fresh food and do lots of exercise walking the dog which keeps me out of the fridge and takes my mind of food. For some reason the word diet leaves me feeling deprived and hungry so I am attempting to eat food that I enjoy and fills me up and regularly visiting this site for support and encouragement. Fingers crossed I am on the right path this time
  • I follow Weightwatchers but their old plan, not their latest one which came out in November. Also generally I try to cook a fair amount from scratch - I have lost weight in the past having lots of ready meals but I find them unsatisfying and usually less filling. I'm on maintenance now and have recently moved over to just counting points on weekdays, but I have a few self-imposed rules for the weekends since I eat out a lot then, like not having dessert, not having huge cappucinos etc.
