Default So hungry today!

I've been doing really well and staying within range (1200-1500 cal) without feeling hungry or deprived but for some reason my stomach won't stop growling today! I've already hit just over 1100 calories and haven't had dinner or my late evening snack so it's looking like I'm gonna be over today. That is so frustrating! I just ate a bowl of cheerios and skim milk as a snack 45 min ago because I was hungry and now I'm hungry again! What's going on with me today?

what proteins have you had today?

Protein will stay with you better than the cereal. A spoonfull of Peanut butter, a cheese stick, 2 oz of deli meat....

I get that way at certain times of the month...maybe you should track the days you are hungry to see if there is a pattern that coincides with your cycle.

I had an egg and turkey bacon sandwich at breakfast with coffee. I had chicken noodle soup for lunch..homemade with chicken breast meat with wheat crackers on the side..I had the cheerios and milk for a snack and an apple with a tbsp of peanut butter for a snack. I've been trying to get protein throughout the day. I just got finished with my cycle so maybe that's why...I don't know...it just bothers me the thought of going over on my target. I figured out the rest of my food for the day and it'll come in just over 1750 cal for the day so at least I'm not that far over. And I'm thrilled that my mindset is in a good place cause I'm not taking the fact that I'm going to be over for the day as an excuse to just eat whatever and totally blow things out of the water!

no biggie...your appetite is constantly fluctuating based on caloric needs due to various biological factors. It's ok to eat a little more one day, or a little less. Go ahead...enjoy!

Just going to throw this out there, take it with a grain of salt.

It is okay to feel hungry sometimes. Just because I feel hungry sometimes doesn't mean I HAVE to eat. I know that I will not starve, I know food is coming. If it become to much to handle between meals, I crunch on some raw veggies to tide me over, (you can eat a huge mountain of celery, radishes and cauliflower for the same calories as a small bowl of cheerios for example). It always gets me by. Needless to say I'm rarely actually hungry.

Sometimes I think about a TV show I once saw. It was one of those shows about how people survive horrible events. Anyway, this normal weight young woman became lost in the Grand Canyon. She was stranded for over 3 weeks and the only thing that sustained her life was a small spring in which she collected drinking water. She lost most all of her body fat, but she made it 3 whole weeks without a single morsel of food. I figure if she could go 21+ days without food, I can make it a couple hours.

Me too, and I'm feeling the same way today. I'll probably still be within my calories, but I really would like to eat more today. I probably WOULD eat more if I had gone to the gym tonight, but my husband begged me to stay home with him (we haven't had a lot of time together this week) - so no gym and no more food. Sigh.
