Default Calorie Issue

Do you ever have trouble reaching your calorie level?

I have been using 400 calories for breakfast, 400 for lunch, 750 for dinner, and 100 for snacks. Sometimes I have trouble finding things to reach 750 for dinner without there being 2 tons of food on my plate. I'm worried about my calories being too low and not leaving me with anywhere to go later.

Any ideas?

Maybe you could cut down the dinner allowance? Add in a few more snacks?

You could add in another 100-calorie snack, or add more to breakfast and lunch, and lower the dinner count down. You'd still be getting the same amount of calories throughout the day, you just wouldn't be trying to eat so many at one meal.

Sometimes I have had problems reaching my calories for the day (oh you healthy low calorie fruits and veggies!) but I agree with the other posters.
I typically eat a similarly caloried breakfast lunch and dinner with smaller snacks in between.
I heard the old diet saying something like "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper." I know a lot of people eats more calories in the first half of the day then the second and it works for them.

What has worked for me is 3 meals/3 snacks per day. I just divide my daily calorie intake in thirds, so breakfast/morning snack is 1/3 of my daily, lunch/afternoon snack is 1/3 and supper/evening snack is 1/3. I find this has been the easiest way to keep my eating consistent through the day and to ensure I'm hitting my target each day. Maybe moving some of those calories from dinner into another snack during the day or into your other meals would help.

Those are some good suggestions. I had been thinking about doing something like that. Once I go grocery shopping again, I'll make the changes.
