It varies from week to week. Sometimes I'm just hungrier, or have events that involve food going on. Some weeks, I don't touch them.
It's optional. That's what I love about it.
You don't have to use them, but if you have a celebration, holiday, or unexpected circumstances, they are there to use!
I never use AP...mainly because I'm not really getting in enough exercise to earn many. Plus, I feel like burning calories is like a little bonus. I would if I suddenly trained heavily or something.
I like having the WP as a buffer for days when i go out to eat. I always try and estimate what I'm ordering in a restaurant as best as I can, but I feel less guilty knowing I have those 49 extra points in case my calculations are off
i use weekly points when i allot myself an off plan meal, which is about once a week, once every two weeks, or when there is an unexpected occasion. sometimes, i happen to go over my points for the day by a point or two, so its nice to have that "insurance" so to speak. i never go through all my points allowance though, so i never get to my activity points.
I get 29 points a day, so I eat about 5-6 weeklies per day to boost my intake when needed to have a beer some days. I don't eat my APs, although yesterday when I snow shoed for 2 hours, I definitely needed more fuel (earned 23 APs) so by the end of this week I might dip into my APs. But on a normal week I don't.
