Default Lurker becomes member!

Hi all!
I have been lurking for the oast week and decided I may as well sign up! I live in NW Indiana and am back on the wagon after falling off a couple years ago. I went from 295 to 145 in a little over a year using atkins. For awhile, it was awesome but the psychological aspects of changing so much on the outside but still feeling like the same person on the inside took me down the wrong path. I then started being viewed as hot, got way too social and getting involved in the party scene. There I learned that cocaine was a great suppressant ... for awhile. Then I never exercised b/c who wants to do that when you feel a heart attack coming on any second. Luckily, that was a short lived ride and I just quit one day and never again. I seem to have willpower over everything except food. lol
So a few years later I am back up to 240 and besides the obvious reasons of poor eating/exercise habits, I think somewhere in my mind I am programmed to think "fat keeps me out of trouble". So I am excited to try to change my wiring and get to a better weight.
