Lightbulb Greetings from a chilly chicago

Hello all!

I have poked around some on this site before but have yet to really do anything with it. I am trying to give it a dedicated shake this time, and hopefully it will help me get my butt in gear! I am a bit of a busy lady, I work full time and am in the middle of Grad school applications right now. But I wanted to make sure I get a start on myself this year. I just recently turned 25 and want to make some changes. And then hopefully with those changes work toward building a good 'grown up' life for myself

I look forward to reading comments and stories by all of you. As for my current plan for weight loss - I need to get up off the couch and do something! I have these slim in 6 work out dvds and I also am thinking about joining weight watchers. So we will see how that unfolds!

Have a good day!
Erin

Hey, a fellow Chicagoan! Welcome, Erin! I can completely understand where you're coming from. I'm 21, on my way to grad school this year, and am ready to start "growing up". For me, losing weight is a part of that because I don't want to be an overweight adult and I just need to start taking better care of myself.

This site is a great source of support. I've found that even when I have slip-ups, this site motivates me to keep going. (Before I found this site, I would give up for months at a time). I hope you find it to be just as valuable. Good luck!

Hey Erin -

Have you found the 20-somethings forum yet? It's for those in your age range. We have that, as well as forums by eating plan, and lots of miscellaneous support threads...including one for Slim in 6 in the Exercise forum. So look around!

Jump on in and get to posting. I can't wait to get to know you better!

Thanks for all the well wishes! I have jumped into the 20 somethings forum and posted there. I have also sent out a few different question threads. As for getting the work outs started - I have yet to do it. I am cleaning my room so I have space to move. I moved home last year and had to cram what feels like a two bedroom apartment into a single room. Well... not really, you will not see me on that TV show Hoarders or anything! But still too much stuff not enough space!! So week one - clean and get equipment together (looking for a good scale). Then next week I will start Slim in 6 and hopefully a food journal. I am hoping to get my booty in gear!
