Smile Back To The Basics

Hello all,

This is my first day on the forum and i am VERY excited to get started on my weight loss journey. I look back at my high school pictures, where it was so easy to keep the weight off without so much as a blink, and find my self thinking...where have those days gone!! ANYHOW I'm not a fan of diet pills ,power shakes, butt blasting bars, and what have you, so thought i'd try the old fashioned version of losing weight by counting calories and getting off my couch to do some exercise.

Its been about a month now, and I'm a bit disappointed to say i haven't seen any results on the scale. I do however, have lots more energy and stamina in my exercise routine, just not the change in numbers that i want. I was wondering if anyone was trying my same methods, and if so when you happened to see a change and how you've progressed since. I'm looking forward to your responses

Hey! I can totally relate to looking back on highschool pictures and wondering what the heck happened? It use to be effortless almost.

Im not very far into my weightloss, and by far no expert but this is what Ive been doing: Ive been making myself get my 3 meals in a day. Going for smaller portions, and trying to make healthier decisions. I cut out fastfood.. to once a week. And I have been getting 64oz of water a day. Which suprisingly keeps me away from the soda because once Ive drank all that water I dont need much else to drink. When Im craving something I dont keep myself away from it. Ex: One cookie, 1 cup of ice cream etc. That way I dont binge later. As far as excercise the only form ive been doing so far is my wii dance 2 game. When warm weather hits im hoping to get out and walk atleast a few times a week.

Wow i love your tenaciousness, for i myself dont dare be tempted with one of my cravings. As for the 3 meals, i am finding it much easier to do that because i used to just skimp on breakfast and pig out on lunch and dinner, but now that ive got my portion size and quality of food under control....the rest is just left to the scale. And thanks for sharing I really appreciate it

It takes time and if you are eating right and execising the scale will eventually give in. How many cals are you eating daily?
