Random Question...
How often does everyone weigh themselves?? I was doing it EVERY morning and it was motivating at first... but now its been 4 days and I havent lost ANYTHING... which is soo frustrating!!
Weighing myself everyday was driving me crazy. Id be up a few ounces then down a few. Sooo Now I just weigh myself every Monday and record the number. I have a peice of paper with the date of every monday from now until like June. So every monday I put the new number down.
I used to do it everyday and I found it stresses me out because I get frusterated. So then I started doing it once a week, now it's once I remember to do it. I find not doing it all the time keeps a heavy load of guilt and annoyance off me.
I think people have different methods. I weigh about once a week, but that's because I tend to lose in "wooshes" and it's sort of pointless for me to check in every day because I will see the same number all the time. I also have a problem with wanting to go off plan when I weigh every day. I don't know what the exact connection is, but sometimes I will weigh and be happy I haven't gained or happy I've lost and then I will use that as an excuse to go off plan!
So a lot of people weigh every day, but most people don't lose every day so that's something to be prepared for if you go that route.
I weigh once a week, on Friday mornings, and then graph it so I can see the trend over time. That is especially nice if there's a gain that week because of TOM or something. Every now and then I'll weigh on a day other than Friday + Friday as well, but once a week works best for me.

Thanks for responding everyone . I think Im gonna try and do the once a week thing. I already wrote "weigh in" on every Wednesday on my calender haha. This everyday thing just stresses me out too much if I dont lose anything when I step on...its amazing how much a stupid scale can make or break your entire day!
Funny, I weigh every day because the once a week thing messed with my mind. If I only weighed on Fridays, for example, one weird salt day on Thursday could make it look like I gained weight over the whole week, even if the gain was just because of the Thurs salt.
Seeing day-to-day fluctuations doesn't bother me, because I know most of it is water weight. So, if I gain a pound between Thurs & Friday, it's easy to explain because I know that I didn't eat enough calories on Thursday to gain a "real" pound overnight. (It's actually pretty hard to eat 3500 calories over maintenance in a single day.) A gain of a pound over a full week, though, could be water ... or it could be fat.

I think it's the opposite for a lot of people, with the daily weigh ins. I've seen quite a few posts from people frustrated because their weight changes from day to day and they don't feel like they're losing. Logically, most of us know that weight fluctuates, but I guess for some of us it's just nicer to not have to deal with seeing the scale go up and down all the time, and see a little 1-2 lb whoosh once a week instead. Totally get what you're saying, though, if one can get past the frustration of weight fluctuations, daily weigh ins can be a really good tool.
Deciding to weigh every day actually reduced my scale obsession because I made a decision that my weight does not matter in the short term of day to day and week to week. I want to stay within a range and over time see the range get a little lower.
When I weighed every week I would spend the whole week thinking about my weigh-in and if it wasn't what I'd hoped for I'd be devastated. But when I weigh daily if I have a fluctuation up I can remind myself I was down earlier that week, so I'm getting there. I always count the lowest number after I've seen it a couple times, then just wait for the next lowest number and ignore the spikes.
I weigh everyday just so I can see if Im keeping up with my weightloss. I never really go by the number because weight fluctuates so much but its nice to see .4 pounds here and there throughout the week. plus i can make sure Im not gaining big amounts either
I am an every day weigher. It's taken me a really long time not be driven nuts by it though. But I can almost gaurantee that at some point during the week I'll spike up 1-2 pounds overnight, it's just my bodys natural fluctuation and I've learned not to get frustrated by it. I only count my Sunday weigh-ins for the weight loss number for the week though.
I weigh every day - only because it keeps me very focused. However, I chose one day a week (Thursdays) which is my "weigh in" day and I graph that weight.

Same here except my official weigh in day is friday!
