Newbie! Just introducing myself. :)
Hi! This is the first time I've ever joined a support group for weight loss. I've decided that I don't do well on my own and can use all the help I can get.
I'm 24 years old, married 1 year, 5' 8.5", and as of Saturday I am 242lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I started working out a few months ago but when I started a new, very stressful job I wasn't able to keep going to the gym. I gained back the 7lbs I'd lost. I'm finally used to my job and managed to figure out how to squeeze in time at the gym.
I feel like this time is different, though. I've always been the kind of girl who wants results fast and when it doesn't happen I get very disappointed and give up. I'm also very scared of change and like things to stay the same, so rapid weight loss would end up scaring me into giving up. This time, though, I realized that I don't want to lose weight fast. I don't want to lose more than 1 or 2lbs a week. A nice gradual change seems about right!
Long-term weight goal: to reach 160lbs by Aug. 12, 2012 (82lbs in 82 weeks)
Short-term goal: 25lbs lost by July 10, 2011 (25lbs in 25 weeks.)
