Default Bob Harper's New DVD Series

I have begun doing Bob Harper's new DVD set "The Inside Out Method". I have to say that HOLY COW they are difficult!!

I attempted the 15 minute Ab routine and made it through 25 minutes of his Yoga. The 20 minute strength routine is next up once my muscles feel better.

I just wanted to start this thread because a friend of mine on another forum are both doing his workouts and we wanted to know if there is anyone else in 3FC world that is working on these workouts too?

Are those kettlebell ones? Although Bob seems to have more sense than Jillian, I may be a little wary of following someone with little experience in kettlebells. I think someone else on the forum mentioned that Jillian was getting sued due to (safety) issues with her kettlebell DVD but not sure about that.

Right over here Vix!!
The 20 minute strength, LOVE it . . . you really don't feel pushed to the edge but man do you feel it the next day. I have definition in the backs of my arms, woot woot!!
I'm braving the cardio today, and then the Yoga another day.
The abs . . . I still think he's the devil in carnet for that 15 minutes . . . . making you believe its 'just 15 minutes' . . . jerk

Im curious to see if anyone else is joining it . . . . for anyone thats tempted, you have NO idea how great this series is. Absolutely fantastic.
Let me know how the Yoga goes!

No kettlebells, just free weights. He does discuss form and technique a lot more than Jillian does IMO too, which I find incredibly helpful

I haven't seen it, but I'm always up for a new and interesting workout.

Is it a series of DVDs, or multiple workouts on 1 DVD? Are the workouts structured in intervals/curcuits? How long are the workouts?

I may need to do some research. I haven't done much Bob stuff but my memory is that's he's a bit hard on my knee (I have one bum knee that I have to baby a lot during lunges and squats).

There are 3 DVD's in the series (there is a 4th Bobs workout that i htink you can only get from the website, not sure though)
Yoga - 15 minute ab work out and 1 hr yoga workout
Strength - 20 minute 'beginner' work out and 1 hr work out
Cardio - 30 minute 'beginner' work out and 1 hr workout.

I'm not sure how easy it would be on your knees, there is a lot of squats and lunges, and a lot of holding the squat position. If you can modify it yourself that's up to you (not sure how difficult of a time you have with them)
They are intervals in a round about way, you go from large muscle group to large muscle group, never really doing the same thing twice (except in the ab routine) but you really don't get a break inbetween either.
He isn't messing around with these, you will sweat, you will curse him and you're muscles will shake, but it feels fantastic!!

My friend bought me the 4 DVD pack for Christmas. I am in week 2 of his program. I absolutely love them!!! My goal is to get through the scheduled 4 weeks, then start over at week 2, until I can do the whole hour without stopping! Let me tell you, you definitely get a workout!

I love them!!!

Thanks for the info!

I can do static squats and lunges, but anything traveling/pendulum/alternating bothers my left knee. I've modified a lot of the Jillian stuff.

What weights are y'all working with for these workouts?

Coondocks - The fourth is "Bob's Workout" he takes all of his favorite work outs and puts it into this disc. It is 2 - 30 minute workouts. Week one you do Workout 1, and week 2 you do Workout 2. Starting week 3, you have to do the whole hour!! Workout 1 about made me faint!!! (Not joking)! He reallly kicks your tushy!!

JenMusic
- I have been using 3 lb. hand weights. He does some kettle ball exercises, so I just have 3-5 pound weights to use instead, since I don't have those. Once I get the hang of the workouts, and feel I need more challenge, I will probably up the the weights to 5 pounds.

The four set of DVDs is under $40 from his website (when bought together as a package), and you can download the four week schedule that tells you what day to do what exercise, and if you need to do the short or long workout.

It's hard, but WELL worth it!

I am so glad that there are other Bob lovers out there!

I am snowed in today, so the plan is going to be for Bob's 15 min abs and I'm going to try his 20 min strength training tonite. I am scheduled to run tomorrow so that will help work out my muscles a bit if im sore. May have to take Friday off if the strength kicks my butt too much.

Anyone else snowed in today?

Takes a lot for Peggers to get snowed in, last one I remember was 1984 . . . 3 feet of snow, we're still out and about. Too cold to go out . . now thats another story

Vix you'll love the 20 minute strength, the pinky to the side arms raises, I have DEFINITION in the upper side/back of my arms!! LOVE it
im going to be rocking out the abs and 30 minute cardio myself tonight . . . and hopefully not sleep in and get in another round tomorrow if my arms and legs still work ha ha!

Im the same as megems, using 3-5 lbs right now. I thought it was silly to start at 3 lbs at first . . . . oh how wrong I was. They worked my arms like no ones business.

I think I should start getting a comission, I just sold 2 women I work with on getting this set after they saw my arms ;P

Gotta love that, Coon!!!

Did the 20 minute strength tonight. I LOVED it!!! It was really challenging without being completely insane. He was able to talk me through a couple of times when I wanted to stop before he was finished.

I loved it.

Scheduled to do the 1 hour yoga. To fit it into my day, I will be getting up at 5:30 to get it in before work ~ ~ I have cardio after work & dinner to make, so the only time I can fit in my Bob workout's is the morning!

Did I mention, I am NOT a morning person? That's alright, been doing it for almost 2 weeks now (not everyday 3/5 work days), and it isn't so bad.

Anyhow, if his 1 hour yoga is anything like the 20 minute one I started with, well, I am definitely in for a TREAT!!! But I love it!
