Default Trying to lose my baby weight... never had to deal with weight loss...

I have my daughter 25 months ago.. I gained 60 lbs when I was pregnant with her. 5 months PP I weighed 176 lbs (pre-pregnancy I was 150). I then got pregnant with my son when my daughter was 5 months old. I gained 30 lbs with him. I now weigh 170 lbs. I was always fairly skinny and fit all through high school (I'm 5'6 and I usually weighed between 140-150 lbs). Now I feel like I'm huge. I wear a size 9 pants.. and I really really want to get back down to my normal healthy weight.. Ideally I would like to weigh 125-130lbs.

I'm not sure what to eat (Obviously no sugars, and eat lots of protein..) but I'm still breastfeeding my son and I need to make sure that my milk supply stays up. Hes now 11 months but I plan on weaning him anytime after 1 year. I know people say you lose a few lbs when you stop breastfeeding which is YAY but..

What do you eat on a regular basis? What do you do work out wise? I have 2 bad knees and a really bad neck, so I can't work out vigorously otherwise I'm bed ridden for 2 days! But I can do steady 30 min workouts (haven't had time with working 2 jobs and taking care of my kids) but I know I can ease my way up to longer workouts as my body gets stronger.

I really want to lose my belly. Toning my thighs will be easy, but its my belly that will be hard.. any tips?

Thanks!

I work out with my son. We put on music and do "dancey Dance" time for a good hour in the after noons. I know you said you have bad knees so even just light moving around helps. And it tuckers out the little ones just in time for nap time! lol

I would find out first how many calories you should be eating while nursing and losing weight. You can always call your OB to find this out. They may even refer you to a dietitian to help you out! Or you can find out how many calories you should be eating to lose wieght as is, then add the additional nursing calories to it? I like the calorie calculator at freedieting. com

I am not nursing, but this is my 3rd time around losing baby weight. With my last baby (he is 6months old now) I gained 50lbs. I am still working on losing the last 10 pounds of the pregnancy weight, then on to relationship weight. I have to admit this time around it seems a lot harder to drop the weight!

I just switched up my calorie intake and I am eating around 1200 calories a day. I exercise for 1-2 hours a day and I am hoping the weight starts to drop faster. Tomorrow is my first weigh in day since I changed things up, but I am ready to be back in to my old self!

Good Luck!

Congrats on your two littles! Being a mama is the best!

I had my daughter 5 months ago & I researched a ton before I decided on a diet plan. The best thing to do while you're breastfeeding is to eat between 1500 & 1800 calories a day. Your body will adjust to this decrease & your milk supply won't suffer.

I'll give you a quick look at a sample of what I eat for a day just to give you an idea...

Breakfast: Omelet (1 egg, 1/3 cup All Whites egg whites, ham & cheese): 227 calories
Snack: Fiber One Bar: 130 **Beware the 400lb man farts from these
Lunch: Turkey melt on Rye bread with swiss cheese: 255
Snack: Slim Fast bar: 170
Dinner: a 300 calorie chicken recipe (allrecipes.com or sparkpeople.com) with a veggie
Snack: a glass of chocolate milk: 130
And this is bad, but it works...I allow for 2 Dr Pepper's a day which is 300 calories.

I stay between 1600 & 1700 calories a day. I started at 1900 & moved from there after the holidays, and have lost 2lbs this week. AND I've had no problems with milk supply.

HTH!! Sorry it was so long!
