I know you are supposed to have at least cups a day of water... but if you make something like diet hot chocolate where you would add water, does that count? Does it count when you make a smoothie with ice? It all mixes in the stomach anyway, right? So it WOULD count as water?
Yes, it all counts as water--but the best thing is just water. Reason being, if you drink nothing but, say, diet soda all day long, you are getting the chemicals as well as the water, and the chemicals have to be eliminated. So that makes your kidneys work harder than just plain water.
I mainly just count water as my "water" intake for the day. I drink tea sometimes, but plain... just a tea bag in water - though I don't *count* that as my water intake per se.
