Default A Journey of 1000Km begins with a single step...

...AND with a great support group!

I have been down this weight loss/get fit road before, successfully, and it's time to do it again. For me, having SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), and having a commute between 2 jobs (by car) really piled on the weight from October to now.

My strategy is to start with the SBD 2-week phase one, from today until Jan.14th (I've already blown it b/c I didn't have breakfast today), and I'm upping the non-exercise to daily walking. I'm also hoping to get to a pool twice a week, and a walking clinic with a 5K walk in March to aim for.

As my username suggests, I'm hoping that my two new Summer 2010 tankinis will fit again by March 12th, as I'm headed to the DR for a week.

Living and eating intentionally...for the rest of my life, one step at a time!

Thanks for being there for me!

Default 17 Days in...

...and the waistband of my skirts and jeans are looser. Hurrah! I am now walking with a group on the weekends (last week we walked 4.8km in -22C in a blizzard) (just shows you how intrepid Canadians are!), and twice a week on my own (today it was a 2.0km route after school).

Does anyone else ever dream about food? I had this most amazing dream about me eating the ultimate in chocolate decadence last week. When I woke up, I was SO relieved that it wasn't true! That made saying no to the chocolates at work easy as pie...

Someone told me that dreaming about food means that my body is too deprived and that I should indulge my fantasy. However, I think that it means that my body (on South Beach) was saying 'good-bye' to chocolate/sugar, and that the relief I felt when I woke up showed me that I am resolved to stick to this plan.

Thanks for listening!
