Default Shoveling Snow

OK, I've shoveled snow TWICE now and it's only 11:00 AM. Needless to say we're having a bit of a snow storm, about 10" so far. Does anyone have any ideas how many calories we burn shoveling snow???? It's a driveway (3 car garage) and about 30 feet long (that's a guess, about average length for a suburban neighborhood)

I am not planning on doing my workout today, as I feel like I've already done it, TWICE and will probably do it again when and if I get home from work.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

How long did it take? Fitday can give you the calories burned.

I've done it twice this week and am about to go out and do a bit more before freezing rain and more snow hits us.

Thanks so much I checked Fit day and a few other websites (I googled them) and fit day says a little over 300 per hour, some of the others were closer to 500, but I'll take the 300 as I shoveled about 2 1/2 hours all together and was sweating under my clothes.

Oh I HATE freezing rain . . . . UGH and OH NO!!!

Where in WI are you? I'm near Sheboygan, and it just started snowing heavy about 5 pm. It's definitely a bizzard! My Fiance just got in the house from running the snowthrower the first time... we'll have to do it plenty more!

I live on a farm in Nebraska. I DO NOT shovel snow at home, if hubby can't fire up a tractor and get it done, forget it.

However, if it is snowing, and I'm the first one at work, adn the sidewalk needs shoveled, I will do it, but I try like heck to get out of it, that's what the 2 men that work there are for.

But, good for you for the exercise!

Diane-
It has been 20 years since I have shoveled snow- but, I remember doing then. You have had two workouts todays. It gets your heartrate up, use get resistance training... and besides your fingers, toes and ears... you were probably sweating somewhere!
