Hi everyone! I'm glad I found this forum. About a year ago is when I started my weightloss journey. Before then I had barely given my weight a second thought. I had a baby in 2008 but only gained 18lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight (which was 165, heavy for my height bit nothing I was concerned about). I got back down to my pre preggo weight within about a month. So I kind of assumed I was one of the lucky ones with good baby recovery genes. This lead to a lot of overeating and drinking--not with a kid around, the baby was for another couple. Next thing I knew I couldn't fit my clothes, someone I went to h.s. with didn't even recognize me, and I was un-tagging myself from photos friends would post online. I didn't have my own scale but finally decided to weigh myself at my parent's house. I was 2lbs OVER my most pregnant weight. That's when I decided something needed to change. Things were slow at first because I'd gotten post partum thyroiditis, a thyroid problem caused by pregnancy and all the crazy hormones afterwards. I took an herbal supplement to help, but I guess it only usually lasts for a year or so after giving birth (according to my Dr.)
After my thyroid was better I was finally able to lose some weight. I lost 30# the first 6months, started dating a guy and lost only 5 lbs while we were together and I've lost another 7 since we broke up a couple months ago. I'm 8# from my goal although the most important thing for me was to feel healthy. My weight loss hasn't been fast, but I don't feel as though I've deprived myself of anything and I haven't set foot in a gym (I don't have a membership and would rather get fresh air anyway.)
So I guess that's it for now.

oh, I apologize for any spelling errors or strange words in here. I'm typing on my phone and sometimes the autocorrect gets out of hand.
