So far so good. I finished cooking. Not stuffed, with food still on my plate. Didn't load my plate either. The foods eaten probably weren't the most low calorie one could have, but i'm proud of me for not going on an all out binge and recognizing when to say no. Later I'm going to my friends's house for "dinner". But I don't plan on eating when I get there. I'm purposely going super late, AFTER their dinner is over.
I guess my desire to continue losing weight is greater than my desire to pig out :-). Lets hope this mentally sticks all weekend, and through the Christmas holidays!!!
Woohoo! Good job gals! Ur keeping me in line! We won't eat til later this evening but I already know what is going on my plate. Homemade pumpkin soup, small amount of turkey breast, a homemade spinach patty and yummy tea sweetened with my truvia sugar. I'm really going to try and stay within 1200 calories for the day. Do you know I read that most people consume more than 4000 calories at one turkey day meal!! WOW! I can only imagine what that would do to me!
For breakfast I had one egg, small amount of ham pieces and green chili on top. I need to go look up the calories on that.
Well GOOD LUCK to all of you!!!! Get thru this day, we are sooo much stronger than temptation!!!!
This is so wonderful to hear!! I just finished "eating" lol my plate was so tiny...I had big salad (it was a recipe with hardly ANY calorie value in it at all) and 1 small piece of manacotti. 1/3 piece of cheese (pathetically small) LOL but i cut it up into pieces and ate it super slow.
I feel so stinkin wonderful it's pathetic LOLOLOLOL
Awhile back I decided to do myself the favor of not worrying about cheat days and falling off the wagon. I Decided that I would stay exactly on plan for one year. oct 19th 2010-oct 19th 20011. A couple sacrifices will have to be made, like going to my fams for dinner (too much drama this year is making it really easy to stay away though!)
things like finding new and healthier ways to carry on old traditions.
I am not the kind of person who can do moderation of bad things. Trust me, if I were I would never have gotten up to 299 lbs.
Staying home this Thanksgiving and being in total control of what I cooked and how much of it I cooked and even more important how much I ate, has been a huge help.
For those of you at someone else's house trying to not give in to the surely bountious goodies, I must say, GOOD LUCK! STAY STRONG!
Hi! I had a good day today...enjoying my family and cooking. I did eat a large meal and had cake this afternoon. I have had a large sweet tea too. I plan on getting right back to my plan tomorrow. I am still very full so I will probably skip dinner tonight. To be honest as good as the food was it still is more important to me to eat healthy and lose this extra weight. After all these years of over-eating and not taking care of myself I am really enjoying the way this feels more than that cake did. My family who have not seen me in a while did comment a lot on my weight loss. That made me feel so fabulous!
I worked out this morning and then came home and did the cooking. It was a great dinner. We had two of our dearest friends over and we all enjoyed my cooking to the fullest. Yes, I'm full, mostly because I don't usually eat that much at one sitting now that I'm back to losing this weight of mine. Tomorrow I will be right back on plan. I have to work Black Friday and I'm sure that will burn some extra calories. I have a little leftovers for tomorrow, but the pie went home with the friends.
Congratulations to everyone who stayed on plan today!! You guys rock!!!
Okay, accountability time - I was not able to stay on plan as much as I'd hoped. I kept my portions under control and only had one helping of everything but the problem was that I had a helping of everything - including the pie.
The other real issue was that I thought my sister was going to bring some water along with the soda she was bringing but she didn't (and trust me - you don't want to drink our city water *shudder*) and so I was stuck drinking soda all day. I ended up drinking two before the day was over.
The only upside was that I only ate the one meal today so I probably didn't completely blow my daily calorie count and when it came time to divide up the leftovers I sent them home with my sisters. I only brought home some of the turkey breast. So I'll be right back on plan tomorrow.
I had 3 oz of beef, 1/2 cup potatoes, no gravy and some green beans. I did eat a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream (whipped by me, no sugar). Oatmeal for breakfast and a sandwich for supper. Tomorrow it's back to the gym, I haven't been in two days so I'm looking forward to it. I've had much worse holidays, so this wasn't too bad.
