Default hey im new could use experienced advice

Hey everyone. I am 23 weigh 265 and have a set goal of losing 80 lbs. I plan on doing it the low carb way and I could use some guidence

Although I am not choosing the low carb lifestyle, the only advice I can give is to choose a specific program, like Atkins or South Beach ( I realize southbeach may not be 'true' low carb, but again, I'm not that saavy to low carb options). Learn about a specific program, read the book or whatever. Don't try to wing it just by eliminating random carbs.

There are groups and threads for almost every WOE imaginable. Ask questions- everyone here is a great help.

I highly recommend the book "The Low-Carb Bible" by Elizabeth Ward. It's out-of-print, though it's available on amazon.com or through library or interlibrary loan.

It provides summaries and overviews of the most popluar low-carb diets. There's also recipes, though they're not all compatible with all plans.

My Way Of Eating (WOE) is Atkins. I have lost pretty well on it. Come by the Atkins forum. Even if you choose South Beach or some other low carb plan we have some really great recipes you might want to utilize
