Default allabout w8

Hi there

I have just started doing the allabout w8 diet and am wondering if anyone else out there is also doing this. I'm looking for some ideas for meals as I don't have much time when I come in to prepare meals with a 2 year old running about.

Thanks

Nic

Hia Nic

I am a new member too, and have lost over 50lb with W8, just doing the 50/50 plan which is two packs and my own low carb meal plus three snacks, each day. I have started maintaining now (I hope) for a few months before returning to 50/50 again to lose the final two or three stone.

How much do you have to lose? What plan are you doing? How are you finding it?

Hiya

Well done you for losing so much, how long did it take you lose that?

I have got about 6 stone to lose, so a long way to go, lost 12lbs in the first week so that was a good start. I'm also doing the 50/50 plan but find it hard at night after i've had my dinner, really gut the munchies then.

Hello again Nic,

It took me just over three months.

I couldn't face sole sourcing and not eating real food and feeling left out at social events. As well as having a meal and snacks I could have a couple of glasses of wine a week, or a white short with coke zero. It did mean that I had to make good low carb choices but there was a long list of suitable foods to choose from so it worked out well for me.

I made omelettes at work with one egg, ham or chicken, asparagus, mushroom, peppers, long stemmed brocolli - really tasty. I had the spag bol pack every day for tea with four different steamed veg added (my snack allowances). I had the porridge every morning with blueberries added. Sounds boring but it worked well for me. I still have the porridge every day while learning to maintain, and I reckon to keep this habit long term.

Losing 12 lb in the first week with 50/50 is fab Nic. How are you having the packs and wha sort of meals are you making? I am assuming that you are having your main 'real food' meal in the evening. I drink a lot of tea (I've got a pint mug lol) when feeling peckish but to be honest, I rarely felt hungry in the evening after eating the spag bol pack with loads of added veg - it was a really substantial meal.

After a few months I will go back on the 50/50 to lose the other two or three stone so that'll mean we are both losing a similar amount. I decided to maintain for a while so I could relax and enjoy Christmas, not that I intend to overeat, but we are visiting family and friends quite a lot over the next few weeks so it will be easier to deal with. And a challenge .

What do you think you can do to help yourself get through the evenings? Do you attend a w8 centre? or are you doing it online? I go to a shop off our high street, it's great. I can chat to our counsellor or to other clients who are popping in to get weighed and buy their packs. Have you tried any of the Skinny Chef meals yet? I love the chicken and mushroom one, it's really packed with chicken and mushroom and not at all like ready meals that I've tried. I usually have one for lunch at work on Fridays for a treat, with steamed vegetables. My colleagues look at my plate enviously while chewing on a boring roll hehe.

I hope you have a great week, and a great weightloss. Best of luck, Nic.

Hi again

I'm having one pack in the morning before work and a pack at lunchtime, I don't have anywhere to cook or heat stuff up at work, so can only have soup or a shake. I have my main "real food" in the evening. I'm the same as you with the tea, every time I feel a bit peckish, the kettle goes on.

I'm just doing the plan online as I find it difficult to get to the centre with working and my daughter. I've only tried one of the skinny chef meals so far, I find them a bit expensive when on a tight budget, but totally agree they are really tasty. I think part of my hunger at night is just boredom, need to find something to occupy myself instead of heading for the kitchen cupboards!!

Many thanks for your support. Hope you have a good week too.

I'm interested, Nic, in finding out what stuff you are cooking for your tea. Its mostly just some sort of protein and some sort of veg, I know, but I'm always looking out for yummy combinations.

Boredom and habit - we have to watch out for them . Also, eating to suppress emotions , its so easy to switch off and just eat.

Feeling a bit like that today, another day snowed in after the latest snowstorm, just when we'd finally cleared the street, drive, and car of mountains of blooming snow. It helps to keep healthy stuff around and not buy biscuits, cakes, sweeties etc.
