Default Totally OT - For Colored Girls - a must see movie for all women

OMG - It is so powerful, moving, funny. Tyler Perry did an excellent job weaving the beautiful poetry into the scenes.

Anybody else see it? What do you think?

My movie watching experience was a bit disturbed by a person who decided to bring two children under the age of 4 to this movie....other than all the talking (which you can't blame 4 yr olds for), I felt bad that they had to watch some tough scenes. I hope they had no clue what was happening.

That aside, I thought the movie packed a huge punch. Though at times tough to watch, at the end I was glad I did. Incorporating poetry could not have been easy, and I think Tyler Perry did a great job with that. I was wondering though if perhaps the movie may have been better if chose to adapt the poetry into regular dialogue for the movie.

Overall, great performance. I'm glad I saw it.

I saw it on opening day. It is a great movie but a little heavy. I warned my SIL who cries at the drop of a hat that she migth want to wait for it to hit video. She went anyway and liked it (of course she cried). I will be buying it when it comes out on dvd.

The scene with the kids had many women in the audience really breaking down. I thought one woman was going to have to leave. For the rest of the movie, you could hear women crying thru out the theater.

Great movie. I'm gonna have to search the internet for the poetry; it had me laughing and crying.

It was okay, I've seen the play several times and the movie just doesn't do the beautiful words of Ntozake Shange justice. I don't think it's heavy, I think it's life and those are some things real people go through.
