Default Oh man was that BAD but I own it and it's ok!

So after we left the vet last night, hubby and I went to the grocery store.. pull in and see the car of this annoying "kid" (ok so he's somewhere in his early 20s but what ever) whose mom lives at the bottom of our driveway.. he's good hearted I think but as bright as a blown out lightbulb and has this way of driving me insane. I looked at hubby and said "I can not run into him right now". He agreed and said lets go to Perkins for some tea and time before we have to get the kids. I said ok.. well tea turned into the 2 of us sharing a sampler appetizer (1350 calories ) and each having a piece of pie (mine was peanut butter silk for a whopping 930 calories ).. so yeah after the day was almost over and I had a few calories to spare.. I blew it by eating 1,600 calories extra!

Then we went to the store and I bought the 40cal each fudge pops I wanted and the diet hot chocolate came home put it away and told myself that tomarrow was another day and I am still ok

Today it's supposed to be nice, we will be taking the kids to a park or something I hope.. and I will be on plan all day .

Maybe next time drive to a secluded spot for some smooching time. No danger of over eating and you'll burn a few calories!

Yes, owning it is a good thing. I munched way too much cheese at Book Club last night after an on plan day. Today you and I will be stronger!

Forgive yourself and move on. I'd also recommend strategizing for the next time something like that happens. What can you do differently? Figure that out and put it in your little mental toolbox.

The key here is going to be getting yourself IMMEDIATELY back on track. Immediately. No, "I already blew it, what's one more ________ going to harm?"

And like the others have mentioned, you've got to come up with different remedies for times of stress and what have you.

You stepped into dangerous territory there. The ideal thing would have been to put the brakes on, headed it off at the past before you stepped one foot in the mine field, I mean restaurant .

Push yourself. You're still new at this. You're going to have to learn to tell yourself no, even if you feel like doing these things. Don't let yourself off so easily. Don't give yourself permission to eat off foods. You're going to have to dig down deep and tell yourself, "no, I'm not doing this, I need to make mature, responsible decisions, regardless of what's going on around me."

Use this as a learning experience, but please be sure to indeed learn from it.

And of course you're still ok.

I know how hard yesterday must have been. I've been through it myself, it's the only downside to owning pets. It sounds like you have a good plan in place for today, I'm sure it will be better.

Enjoy your nice day with your kids. I'm sure some outdoor distractions will help everyone.

Thanks, today has been wonderful, took the family to the park to play and walk and just unwind. Heading outside to stack the firewood we cut last weekend as hubby chops it... boat loads of calories burned doing that!

I have eaten on plan all day so far, and dinner is figured all out so all should be right in the world for a second

Thanks for all the support. And about the making out... I think it hit hubby rather hard too (shhh don't tell anyone but I saw him cry for the 3rd time ever.. the 1st was when our daughter was born, the 2nd was his grandma's funeral and then yesterday), he kind of went into a shell for a bit. We are both doing better today (after I had to toss out the food bowls that included the big water bowl all the critters shared.. poor things , I just couldn't handle looking at them).

One day at a time, and when that is too much then every second you get past is one you no longer have to relive.
