Default New member here!

Sorry for the long post, buttt....

Hi! I am Jessica, I am 21, married, and I have a 15 month old son. Before I got pregnant I was a size 6. I rarely exercised, I ate whatever I wanted. As soon as I got pregnant, I started gaining weight. It was instant (I am short, so if I gained two pounds it looked like 12). I was unable to do much the first trimester because of how sick I was. The second and third trimester I tried to keep myself as busy as I could. Playing outside with my family, shopping, I tried to walk on the track as often as I could. During the last couple weeks though, I became so swollen up (which is normal). When I had my baby, I lost no weight. The doctor couldn't even believe it. I gave birth to a 6 1/2 lb baby and didn't lose a pound.

After my baby was a couple months old, I started to work out some, on my own. I ran the trails around my house, I went to the gym, I did a lot of resistance training, and some cardio. I didn't really see any results so during the holidays I gave it up. We went on a cruise this past spring, and when we developed our photos, I looked huge! I immediately went to a place in my town that puts you on a restricted calorie diet and an appetite suppressant. I lost about twelve lbs within a month and a half. Then I started taking a bootcamp offered at a fitness center here. The trainer took me off of the restricted calorie diet and put me on a more structured one. I lost about 6 lbs, the first 6 weeks, but the inches lost were incredible! I got back down to my pre pregnancy clothes size, but I still had a ton of fat on me. I went back for a second six week session, but it wasn't as successful because I missed a lot of classes due to my son being hospitalized in another state for a week. I started working out in the fitness room at my apartment complex, but it obviously wasn't enough, I started gaining the weight back. I am now back to where I started in springtime.

A couple weeks ago I bought a ton of slim fast and decided to do that as my diet, I still gained weight, even though I was following the exact slim fast diet. I am at a loss. I am considering going to my dr to see if I have a thyroid problem. I suggested it to my mom and she told me to go, she said that my dad had just recently been diagnosed with a thyroid problem, so its likely that I may have one.

Sorry this post is so long, I just wanted to share my story and get feedback from others. There are details I left out, like taking Advocare supplements while doing bootcamp, and a few other things. I just want some feedback from people with similar stories. Thanks!
