Default Progress pictures don't seem to be progressing.

I wanted to post some progress pictures after I officially lost 20lb (6lbs from now) and I just took a new picture today. I'm shocked to see no progress, same with my measurments, yet the scale says I've been losing. I suddenly feel very defeated. Has this happened to anyone else? If anything, it looks like I GAINED in the stomach area... and it's making me more self conscious

Granted I was too dumb to be able to stand in the same spot, and the newest picture is taken in a whole other area (the area I will be taking them from now on) but that's really not an excuse. I honestly look worse than my last picture and I just don't get it.

I had the same thing happen to me with 15 lbs. When I look at the pictures and in the mirror I don't see a change other than my belly might stick out a bit more. My husband says he can see the difference and maybe I was just bloated since that time of the month came a few days later. So I am going to take another pic in a week and see if anything changes.

For some people, it takes more than that amount of weight to see a difference. But take heart! The more you lose, the more noticeable it becomes.

It's like a roll of paper towel--if you have a new roll, and you take off 3 sheets, it doesn't seem to make much difference to how the roll looks. But when the roll is smaller, if you take off 3 sheets it shows up.

So, keep on going! Don't give up!

keep me posted on how that goes I was looking into the other day but I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I have P90X but have yet to do it, I just go to the gym after I walk my daughter to school.

I was opposite, saw no change on the scale, but lost inches. People said they could see a difference and I was embarrassed to say I hadn't lost any weight. I guess everybody is different.

Tell me how you like it! I just ordered Jillian's 30 day shred, but I won't get a chance to start it for a week or two.

If you are losing inches in your shoulders and hips and hips and breasts but not the stomach, suddenly your stomach may look huge when it actually hasn't changed. Have you taken measurements?

It does take a long time at the beginning for anything to be really noticeable.

I've seen it advised to take the picture from the shoulders down, leaving off the head. It depersonalizes it. You might try that too.

Yeah, I usually either pull my shirt up under my boobs or take it in my bra, never show my head/face. It's weird, because for a while I was losing inches like crazy, then I stopped, then I gained inches back. I can see myself actually smaller, but it doesn't look like it in the pictures. So I don't know. Maybe it's because I wasn't consistent enough. I've been trying to lose weight since june, but I took a 2 1/2 break in July and exercised every other day in Sept, it looks like.

Have you tried seeing if anyone else can notice a difference in the pictures? Sometimes it's hard to see the difference in yourself, even in pictures. I'll look at some pictures of myself and not think there's much of a difference, but other people sure do notice.

Just keep it up, nonetheless, and try not to be discouraged. You ARE making progress, just keep telling yourself that.

in certain places if you gained inches back, it could be muscle. i think that happened to my calves. i had been working them hard, expecting to be smaller, but i had gained an inch. that was a few weeks ago. we'll see.
