Default Support Needed

My name is Jennifer and I am tired of being over-weight. I see pictures of myself and I am dumb-founded..."I don't see that when I look in a mirror". I have lost 20 pounds in the last 6 weeks thanks to a great program that the company I work for started us on. My problem is that the program/competition ends in 2 weeks and I am afraid I will lose that support system. A few of my coworkers are determined to stay with it, for now but not everyone is. I have tried to lose weight before on my own and having a great support system that asks me to report my weight, steps, workout minutes, water intake and fruits and veggies everyday has been the greatest help for me. I am a competitive person that loves a good challenge. I just need a good support team that requires me to be accountable and depends on me to be a great roll-model. It is that extra push I need for my mindset.

Welcome Jennifer!

You should check out some of the challenges here- they are awesome. I just signed up for the 20 Somthings Biggest Loser challenge. It doesn't start until the 20th - I'm super excited because I'm also really competitive

no reason you can't find a couple co-workers and keep it up. Or join in here.

but it was still you who lost the weight and you did great at it. You can keep it up.

This is a great place to report to, ask questions, and to tell your story. It gives you a sense of 'I'm not the only one out there with these problems."

But if you need that person-to-person support and you do find that your co-workers are not willing to continue the program you could always join Curves or some other gym that has excerciese classes.

I can relate...my friends ditched me for the coach after a couple of months of excercise.

Thanks for the encouragement, and I will definitely check out the challenges. I am going to do a 5K in November that I am really excited about. It's all on an insane uphill route.

Hi Jennifer!
Congrats on the great work you've already done! I've never been much for group programs at work, so the fact that you're succeeding at it is really awesome! Maybe to help keep you motivated after the program ends, you can just continue to log all your workouts, weigh-ins, etc... and get the others who are still interested to do the same. You can still meet up however you were before the end of the program, basically just don't let the program end!

Good luck!
