Default I was doing good....

I started dieting and doing pilates in June and I lost four pounds (I was at 180).But in late summer it got too hot to exercise and eventually I gained it all back. And the other day I was at a funeral and the only thing to drink was pop so I had two cans. The next day I drank half a pitcher of pop,so now I'm at 181. I started hula hooping three days ago and I'm trying to eat better but I still feel trapped and mad that I fell off the wagon in the first place.

Help me stop feeling like this.

Have you tried cutting out sugar? For me, that was the key to losing the cravings and getting the weight off.

You should get yourself out if the mindset of "diet" and into the mindset of lifestyle change

You have daily choices to make concerning what you put into your mouth and what activity level you choose to participate in, despite all the other activities you have going on around you.
You can do this! It IS possible!

Ask yourself, when you don't feel like exercising or you are putting something in your mouth... WHY am I doing this? Am I really hungry? Am I just making an excuse? Am I just have a lazy moment?

Beating yourself up over a slip up doesn't do anything to help you. If you're mad about it, use it to push forward to your goal!

Find your motivation and run with it. Once you get there, you'll know, and there will be nothing to stop you, but you.

You can do it!

It's a good idea to always carry a bottle of water with you. Then you don't have to resort to drinking a can of pop. Or two cans of pop.

Instead of exercising outdoors, you can exercise indoors. Or you can exercise early in the day or later at night when it's cooler.

"If you want it badly enough you'll find a way, otherwise you'll find an excuse"

It's not enough to want to lose weight, but you have to be willing to do what's necessary on a continual basis to lose weight. No excuses. Luckily though, after a pretty short time of really sticking with it, it becomes much more natural and automatic.

It's also vital to set yourself up for success. Making sure you have the right foods on hand and the wrong ones gone. Rules, boundaries, limitations it turns out is a good thing.

So yes, I'm with Lynn - removing the sugar was a G-dsend. After a couple of difficult weeks (the detox period), it was relatively smooth sailing. I'd ban those sodas - make them absolute no's. Along with all other sugar. But do add in lots and lots and lots of veggies, low fat proteins and some fruit.

You CAN do this. You have the ability to lose the weight. You are capable of it.

Forget the past and deal with the here and now. Eating healthy won't happen on it's own - you'll need to think about it and prepare for it.Do you have a plan in place as to how you will lose the weight? A plan, a mode of attack?
