It's good to make sure you get enough water, but it really doesn't have anything much to do with fat loss. That's what you're trying to lose.
If you haven't been drinking enough water, you could be retaining water, which will make your weight higher (water weight). Signs of water retention are that your ankles are puffy, or your shoes or your rings feel tighter than usual.
Try to drink 8 ounces x 8 each day. That's a glass every hour of the work day, roughly.
