I also am not familiar with the SBD except for what I've seen on TV and such. But for what it's worth, 2.5 pounds is GREAT for your first week. If you were at your goal weight at 42 and now 25 pounds over at 48, that means it took you 6 years to gain it, (or maybe 9 months to gain it, and you have been 25 pounds overweight for 6 years). Whatever the case, it didn't all come on in a week, and it's not going to all go away in a week, and as you know, in order to not gain it back you will have to "keep at it" for the rest of your life. Just keep on trucking and get it done.
I understand impatience, really I do, but in the scheme of things, the 20 weeks or so it will take you to get to goal is noting compared to the last 6 years of being overweight. Hang in there.
