Smile Newbie here, liking what I see on 3FC!

Hi folks!

Kinda found this site on accident, looking up WW points for a food item I believe it was. This is so super cool!...Love the encouragement I see going on and all of the friendly support and kind words.

My Story? Well, kinda up and down my whole life, very skinny/thin as a kid, then gained in high school, then lost, then gained again in part due to a bad/sad marriage. Of course lost again when I dumped oh, about 180 pounds I guess he was??. Hahahahaha....Was doing great and got married AGAIN, and have found myself barely holding on to stay below 200....Had been down to 148 at the time of my 2nd marriage and would be *thrilled* to be right around 150 again. I felt so good at that weight and believe it is pretty healthy and reasonable for my height.

Today I am at 190. I have gone back to WW because 'it works', and for me it does. It is what got me down to 148 in 2007. I like the choices it allows me to have. Exercise has never been the problem for me, I like to be fairly active, but I kinda have a binge mentality, have forgotten what it feels like to feel 'full'. I love to run, so have started that again, I have done a lot of 5K's and recently attempted and totally finished a super cool obstacle course 5K called the 'Warrior Dash'. It involved mud pits, leaping over fire, all kinds of crazy stuff and was a BLAST! I also recently bought a carving vehicle known as a TRIKKE, and I have an awesome elliptical and treadmill in my home so can handle the exercise part. Now the food issues, different story entirely, just have the hardest time not making excuses and not making very good decisions. Like you all, some days are easier than others...My hope is to make some contacts/friends here and support each other, and celebrate everybody's successes, be they big or small.

So, if you are new here too and would like to keep in touch, or have been here for awhile and would like to say 'Howdy', please do so! Would love to hear from y'all!

Maggie

Can you tell me how to do WW? I have heard great things from it and I don't know... maybe I should join online... I must admit I hate exercise and I am an emotional eater... Just Friday I got a bad grade on a test so I ate a cheeseburger and fries.... it is very typical of me.. I turn to food for comfort... so I am not sure if WW would work but it is worth a try!!! Keep going ... that exercise will do wonders for you!

Hi!

WW is pretty great, and is just so much more reasonable than anything else I've done. because if you want something you are craving, you CAN have it, you just have to plan where it fits in your plan for that week....

Everything basically has a points value and depending on your age/height/weight, you get a certain # of points and you learn very fast how to get more 'bang' for your buck so to speak. The foods that have more fiber and less fat/cals have the least points. It's pretty easy to learn and I highly reccommend giving it a try. The meetings are helpful in that they are very encouraging and you get a lot of good new ideas on things to eat from the others at class.

And of course, you can do it 'online' too...so much good info and recipes on their website and support groups just like this one. Fantastic program.

Much luck to you!....

Maggie

Oh, forgot to add too, that your excrcise that you do can 'earn' you more points. Like for example when I go out and run for 30 mins, I 'earn' 5 points. Now I can either use them for a little more food if I am hungry or want something a little more 'bad'...or I can not use them and it boosts my weight loss....Very neat Oh, lost 2.6 this week!!!! So off to a decent start again....YAY ME!

Hi, Maggie! I just found this site today (Thursday). I'm in Washington state as well, and if 1969 is the year you were born, then we have that in common, too!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I need a diet buddy, too. I've been losing steam over the last month. *sigh*
