Default On the days that you don't exercise....

Do you try to aim a little lower on your calorie goals or do you stay the same like on the days that you do workout.
I am still trying to figure this one out
I eat between 1,400-1,500 calories and exercise pretty intensely for 6 days a week. I have been calorie counting for the past 9 weeks and have been losing 2 lbs per week. On that one day that I don't workout I eat around 1,200.
But I keep reading that 1,200 is too low?
I am just curious on how many calories do you eat on your non workout days.

Thank you!

1200 healthy, wholesome, nutrient, non- garbage-y calories is more than enough for most people to not only survive, but thrive. Not only that, you are keeping to that 1200 calories for only one day, so in actuality, your average for the week is higher. So one day, of 1200 calories doesn't mean that you are eating 1200 calories as a whole.

My calories don't change because of my activity (or non-activity) level. But obviously this has been working out beautifully for you. As long as you're content and satisfied and pleased with your results, I say "don't fix what ain't broken". Of course you can experiment and see what results it nets you and if you are displeased with those results, you can go back.

I urge you to find what works best for YOU, regardless of popular belief, the average, the norm, the etc.. I had to ignore a lot of so called *diet wisdom* to lose the weight and keep it off. We have to discover our own personal *diet wisdom* and apparently you have.

Keep at it. You're doing great. .

Rockinrobin, Thank you so much for your input! I am going to stick with the 1,200.
I am still in awe of your 165 lb weight loss. You inspire me

I say do what's working for you! 2lb per week is great, though it may slow down at some point. I do similar - I keep my calories atm between 1450-1650 and on the days I don't exercise I try to keep them below 1500 just because I feel like if I was to eat the full 1650 it wouldn't be justified having had no exercise.
