Default Boyfriend's smaller jean size

First, I'm not looking for anyone to fix anything for me. Just a simple "I understand" would be helpful.

My diet has gotten off track the last few days but this morning i was drinking my coffee feeling pretty good about getting myself back in gear (reading these forums actually too). Around 1 i got the idea to turn a pair of my boyfriend's jeans into shorts since im too embarrassed to wear real shorts. Had it all planned to take puppy for a walk with my boyfriend. Well, the jeans would not even come near to buttoning up and i realized there is only a five pound difference between my 6'2 boyfriend and me. Then of course he innocently asked why i wasnt wearing them and i was too embarrassedd to say. Just muttered something about them not working right. Still went on the walk. Puppy was happy but i was dying of the heat in my stupid jeans.

Im sure this is common but ive gained 60 pound since we first starting dating. Is that possible?? I spent the rest of the day frusrated and kinda mad at him. Like it was his fault i ate what i did? That makes no sense.

Tomorrow i kick it into high gear. I want to look cute in my boyfriend's clothes instead of wearing bigger sizes.

Thanks for listening.

Oh I understand where you're coming from. My boyfriend weighs a lot less than me and wearing any of his clothes is not something I could comprehend ever doing. Even at my goal weight/size, I still think he'll be "smaller" than me. He's 5'5" (I think) so fairly short for a guy, and weighs 147 pounds. If I weighed that much I think I'd be fairly happy.

Granted, when we first started going out, we both put on weight as we loved to eat together! He never got fat though, and wasn't fat to begin with.

I am looking forward to the day when maybe I can put on his oversized hoodie and have it be a little oversized on me too haha.

Sorry sweetheart. Major reality check here. Men are built different. My hubby right not weights about 10 lbs. (geez, not much) more than me, but I could not fit into his clothes. I have realized that it's no different than the fact that I can not longer fit into "junior size" clothes. They are just cut different and it doesn't compute. I am now wearing a 12 pretty comfortable (Yeah, me!!), but jr. clothes are just too narrow in the thighs and waist. I have always had a wider waist anyway... So now I find what I can and live with it. Hey, 12 aint so bad///

I totally understand. My ex was 6'2 and 150 lbs soaking wet, while I was at my highest weight. There was NO WAY I would ever get into his clothes.

My husband is my height (maybe half an inch shorter) and he's built really stocky. His pants are loose on me now but at one point I got up to around 156/157 and it started cutting it close.

Men and women are built differently. Men have wider shoulder and smaller hip, while women are the opposite (smaller shoulder and wider hip).
So unless your bf is much bigger than you, it's hard to fit into his pants.
With the hip size of 37 inch, I will never be able to fit into my bf's jean. Haiz. But at least I know his shirt will always is big on me

I totally understand! My boyfriend weighs 30 pounds more than me and I still can't fit in his pants. Darned child-bearing hips... I don't have kids yet, but man when I do it better be easy b/c I have the hips built in to have em!!

Keep your chin up! I got some really cute shorts on sale at Target. They have tons of colors and sizes! Or go to the mens department and get athletic shorts there. They are cut looser and are usually cheaper! Any time we're going out somewhere where we'll be walking around or anything, I wear them. They prevent chafing you can get from other materials!

I went through this once. Husband was running late to work and tore his black dress pants. I had a pair that I couldn't wear anymore because they were too small for me a the time, I offered them to him as they were pretty basic just plain pocketless black dress pants and they were very long on me, I always wore them in heels. I was like "These probably won't fit you but you can go ahead and try them" and they like fit him like he was a cute metro-preppy dressing guy.....(they had slightly flared boot-cut kinda bottoms LOL) He continued to wear them (my used-to-be favorite black slacks) for like a month until he bought himself a couple of new pair! I kept waiting for someone to notice and make fun of him since they were girl pants but they looked okay on him and no one noticed! I was SO SAD! (my favorite black slacks being carelessly abused by him!)

The good news is now, that pair of pants would drop like an old sack on me Better things to come! But its sad when you have "one of those days" I understand.

Thanks you guys! Its amazing how much hearing im not the only one helps. I never even thought about guys being built different. Duh. Haha. Probably why my brothers never had issues when buying jeans. Silly boys and their lack of hips.

I dont usually let random things get to me like this. Bad day coupled with not being able to fit into yet another articleof clothing, i guess. Things are looking up though. Someday ill fit into my own too-small-right-now jeans.
