  • The rule for this week - NO WHINING.

Positivity only. I need this rule as much as everyone else does. Just try it - think of one positive thing to say about yourself, and do it. And don't do the whole "whine whine whine GOOD THING whine whine whine." ONLY GOOD THINGS. Let's just try it, and see if it makes an improvement in our moods/plans.

I had a very tiring weekend - lots of traveling, lots of family, lots of great food - but it wasn't bad. It was actually pretty nice, I just want a nap. I seriously don't even want to know how many calories I consumed, but oh, they were all so worth it.

I'm going back to 1200 calories a day. I cheat too much at 1400, and then before I know I'm at 1600, 1800, etc. So, back to 1200.

My positive thing - my pants still fit after a big Spanish dinner Saturday and a big Italian dinner yesterday - and I was able to run 2 miles outside yesterday
  • Good morning!
Happy (as happy as can be) Monday!
    Good thoughts...good plan.
Dinner is cooking in my crock pot. That's always a good thing. Gives me no excuses to go out because of stress/moodiness. Goal for this week is to plan dinner every night the day before! (even if that means planning on leftovers). I also need to start tracking better. Considering paying attention to calories instead of points.
This will be my last full time week before school starts. I'm pretty stoked about that. Next week I'll get paid for full time, but I'm taking a day and a half of vacation. Birthday is September 3rd, so I'm need need of some celebration ideas!
Stella - I'm totally down for a nap, too. Mondays should include a nap at work!
  • Good Afternoon! (for me here in FL anyway

Good things, eh? Great plan, even if a bit difficult to adhere to on a Monday morning

I had a super awesome weekend, with a good concert and some unexpected family time as I happened to be near a few people that were able to get in contact with me while I was in the area. I overindulged in all areas, and it was fan-freaking-tastic.

I had a weekend of decadence and am more than prepared for a week (weeks, really, I don't intend to have entire cheat weekends often!) of being on plan, active, and productive. I'm a strong, intelligent person that is more than capable of achieving her goals.
  • Yes, it is hard, but I'm reminded of a quote from "A League of Their Own."

"of course its hard. If it wasn't then everyone would do it." We're pretty exceptional ladies, so I think that we CAN do it.
  • I have been doing really well with my eating over the past couple of days. Still haven't worked out but what the hey I've also been working like crazy. So HAPPY MONDAY or least for me it is I have the day off!! woohoo.

When I stepped on the scale it read 206.8 last night and then 207.6 this morning...so i'm taking the higher one. Hope you ladies have a good one...babies crying so i gotta run
  • Stella - and I thought you were going to use either "mule." "nag." or "there's no crying in baseball!!!" hahaha good movie.
  • Happy Monday!

Good things....hmm....well, I survived a weekend spent with the in-laws! Crazy, though, we went to a potluck and there wasn't ONE vegetable on the freaking table. NOT ONE. I was told to bring dessert, so I made a plan-friendly brownie, which I didn't even eat...I took a Vitatop. But, not ONE vegetable?! Sickening! And even more amazing is that I noticed. Before, I would have just happily filled up on all of the carbs and not been disturbed in the slightest. Now I know, next time I bring salad!

I'll be earning some activity points organizing the house this week. We're calling the realtor and having him come out at the end of the week to discuss putting our house on the market. My husband *might* be getting a job in TX, so we're thinking we should start trying to prepare. *crosses fingers*
  • Well, the no crying in baseball also applies here, I think...

I say that to myself sometimes when I'm having a rough day at work - THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL. It just makes me laugh.
  • Especially the way Tom Hanks says it. Some days we just gotta laugh!
  • I had an amazing weekend on the lake. Lots and Lots of swimming, which felt good. However, I am exhausted today! I can't wait to go home and take a nap, then go for a run of course! The weather is finally cool enough where I can step outside without having a heat stroke!

I've been waiting to tell you ladies this all weekend. Thursday night before we left for our trip I went to wal mart and bought natures valley granola bars, bananas, celery sticks, laughing cow cheese, jimmy dean d'lights etc. I wanted to make sure I had lots of healthy snacks on the boat because I know my 'mother in law.'
So we get there, I step in the kitchen and first thing I see is two GIANT bowls of fun size snickers, reeces, and kit kats. I look on the counter and it is packed full of 3 cans of pringles, bags and bags of chips, every little debbie you could possibly imagine, and a giant bowl of sausage rotel. I couldn't help but laugh. I did OK. I did indulge in the occasional fun size snickers as I walked through the kitchen and one night I ate a small bowl of sausage rotel yuuuuumm. I'm not too disappointed in myself considering I swam the ENTIRE time. I had so much fun, and I have raccoon eyes at work today from my sun glasses

I hope you girls had a good weekend. Fingers crossed for a quick afternoon, so I can have that nap!
  • Hi all!!! Everyone must have had a wonderful weekend as the weekly chat stopped dead somewhere on Saturday.

My weekend went well. Took the little one shopping on Saturday then went to his girlfriend's first birthday party on Saturday evening. Jackson had one very small piece of cake. I didn't have any. I bought a really cute black dress at Target on Saturday for only $15. Yay! Went swimming yesterday with Hubby and little one. Made pizza quesadillas for lunch and ribs in the crock pot for dinner (I don't normally eat rib meat because of the fat content, but hubby loves them so I relent once a month or so.) Also made a batch of blueberry muffins for Jackson. I did lick the spoon as I was making them and it was wonderful!

I feel like i have been slacking some with my eating lately. So as added motivation, I ordered a copy of the newest South Beach book off of Amazon this morning. I read the first version back in 2008 so I figure its time for a refresher course.

I think the above accounts as my good thing.
  • Jenn- u will LOVE the newer South Beach book. Has some great recipes that I enjoyed in it. Although I borrowed it to a friend when I got pregnant and have yet to get it back! haha but I remember a lot of stuff out of it so its not a necessity right now.
  • Stella- If it isn't hard, it isn't worth doing, right? And I'm a fan of the "There's no crying.." quote as well

Monday is more than half over, how's that for positive?! I've been planning the night's menu in my head and I'm ready to leave work, hit the grocery store, then go home to get organized. My house is an awful mess in some areas (my room, bathroom... the rooms I blow through like a hurricane every morning!) and the laundry is piled up. I really, really think getting control of that will lead to a lot more harmony in all areas and make keeping on track easier. So I'm excited to get home to clear out some cobwebs and get my head on straight.
  • Quote: Stella- If it isn't hard, it isn't worth doing, right? And I'm a fan of the "There's no crying.." quote as well
I think that's when he says "Anything worth doing is worth doing right" after someone makes the comment about him scratching his balls for an hour. (I just watched this a few weeks ago in B-more with the girls). Love it...

I'm debating NOT exercising tonight. I'm running on very little sleep, my legs hurt, and I have a very early day tomorrow. I just hate skipping exercising, so I think I'm going to play it by ear. In theory, I want to exercise, but I have so much to do tonight and I don't want to hurt my knees.
  • Ha, I wasn't trying to quote an actual part of the movie there, but it fits either way.

I'm trying to reason with myself about working out as well... It is important to fit in a legit workout, but I think tonight it is equally as important, if not more so, for me to get things straight at home. And, if I clean enough, it counts as a mild workout, so there's a plus.
