Slow/stalled weight loss: What do you tell yourself to stay strong and motivated?
I am currently finding that my weight loss progress is much slower, the closer I get to goal, and I'm aware that this is a fairly common experience for many people.
I know that physically, there are a few things that I could do differently - that is, I know there are things I'm not currently doing that I could start doing to really be trying my hardest - but the thing that I am struggling with the most is the mental side of things. I am finding it challenging to stay strong and motivated, and trying not to feel discouraged or depressed, when the scale is hardly moving from week to week, and I don't feel like my shape is changing.
From reading the 3FC forums, I know that there are many incredibly wise and experienced people here, and I wondered if any of you had anything that you could engage in, mentally, to keep yourself strong and on track, when you're in one of those low moods where you feel disheartened about your progress. It could be anything - little pep talks you give yourself, phrases or sayings you think of, mental exercises that you do - anything at all that keeps you psychologically focused, motivated and positive when your weight loss stalls or slows down.
I'd be so grateful if any of you could share something like this, as I feel it would really help me at the moment!
