Default Couple of questions & intro

Hello! Newbie here (day 6) with a few questions for the more experienced IPers out there My sister and I started this together and we've done a good job of making it thru week 1! Our first weigh in is tomorrow.

I've been reading thru the stickies and the various posts (the weekly chats are very difficult to go thru -- too many pages and info I think) and have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer and/or give an opinion on.

1. do you use 2 teaspoons of oil each day or 2 tablespoons? I've seen both mentioned but my paperwork states 2 tsp. I think that's too little since I am using it on my salads (no Walden Farm products yet). What do you use?

2. on my paperwork, green beans are restricted to 2x/week. I have given this a lot of thought and I'm wondering if it's to help encourage us to eat other green veggies? I've just about OD'd on broccoli this week and I think I'm going to limit that particular veg but maybe increase my green beans (I use Schwans frozen cut Grade A - very good!). Thoughts?

Those are my big questions for now LOL I'm sure I'll come up with more but I did not see these when checking out the stickies. Thanks for your input in advance!

My information said 1-2 teaspoons of oil a day. For the first few weeks I used the two but because of the high fat content I dropped to eating 1 a day and use it in the morning. I've found that mixing up my routine every so often has helped me keep losing consistently.

The longer I've been on the diet the more experimental I've gotten with my veggies even trying things i never liked before. Personally, I stick to non restricted vegetables because I show the greatest loss with those but every person's body is different and reacts to this diet differently. The more used to the diet you get the more comfortable you'll be with figuring out the combinations that work best for you. One piece of advice though, always read the food labels there are hidden fats, carbs, and sugars everywhere and neglecting to read labels have set me back a few times.

I'm not a a veteran poster like others on this site but i hope that helped some.:-) good luck as you continue! And welcome to the board!

I know the weekly chat can be long and hard to get the information out of. Thank you for trying.

Oil: It is 1 -2 tsp unless your coach is ok with you having more.

I use 1-2 tsp PLUS I use my udos LIQUID omega oil. I take a normal supplement dose of Udos oil each day but, I use it on my salad. The olive oil, I reserve for cooking.

Green Beans: Becareful with changing this. Green beans have and release a larger amount of sugar so, in uncontrolled portions will pull you out of ketosis. It is like having too many tomatoes or having carmelized onions.

The cooking instructions when given on the protocol sheet are important because they either help to break fiber down and eliminate sugars or they prevent you from cooking something and making too many sugars available without a reasonable portion of fiber.

My suggestion is to explore and get creative with many of the other occasional vegetables.

Good morning and thanks for the input ladies! I had not thought that green beans might have a higher sugar content than other veggies. Glad that I asked!

Heading out to my first WI in a few hours!
