Default Bride to be

Hi all!

My name is Katie. I am from a small town in Ohio. I am 22 years old, engaged to the love of my life, Jason who is 36. We have been together 3 years, engaged for 2. We live together with our 4 boxers and 2 kitties. I am a full time nurse working 3rd shift at a nursing home, he is a full time commerical plumber that works day shift, some times 2nd shift. We are both overweight and want to lose it before our big day.

We are having a destination wedding in Key West in winter 2011. We don't have that year, or a date set in stone yet, as I want to lose at least 66lbs before I even begin to think about walking down the aisle.

When I met my fiance I had just recently dropped 35lbs, without even trying. I had been overweight my whole life, so I never had a thing for guys, I was too shy and disgusted with myself. When I graduated high school I was 198lbs. (June 2006) When I got a job it slowly started coming off, then I met a guy and it seemed to just melt away. I didn't even have to think about my weight or dieting. Before I knew it ( about 4 months) I was down to 178, then 163 after another 4 months. I felt great, looked great, and had every guy looking at me.

In June 2007 my brother got married, and thats where I met my fiance. My brothers friend. He was in the wedding with me and we hit it off right away. He had also recently dropped 30lbs, so getting to our goal weight was something we wanted to do together. Well...we became way too comfortable with each other and now 3 years later I am 206lbs, he is 210lbs.

I have no clothes that I can fit into, and I am not going to buy anymore until I lose the weight. He however, can still fit into all his skinny clothes because his waist and *** didn't get big, just his face and belly.

I am trying everything to lose weight. Its hard because I am a full time nurse and work 3rd shift...so everything is out of whack and I think its taking a toll on my body. I also suffer from depression (since I have been 12) and PCOS.

We joined a gym...but never go because of our work schedules. So I am looking for some suggestions on workout DVDs that I can do at home. Any ideas?

Welcome. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.

As to workout DVD's, Leslie Sansome is a good place to start. Her 'indoor walking' DVD's can be found at Walmart for $10, are low-impact and easy to follow. http://www.collagevideo.com/workout-...ning-walk-5560 This one is 5 miles but can be done mix and match for a shorter or longer workout based or you time schedule.

Welcome to 3FC!! You'll find a lot of good support and really helpful tips on here. As for the DVD workouts, it kind of depends on what you want to do. Make working out fun, it'll motivate you to keep doing it everyday. My favorite work out DVD is one of those Biggest Loser workout DVDs or something dealing with dancing. Good luck with your goals!!

Welcome and good luck! I have tried a wide variety of work out dvds...I really like the ellen barrett dvds (they are mainly pilates)..I like the zumba dvds too...I am not very coordinated so it takes me a bit to do some of the moves.
