Hi everyone! I have been lurking here for a while, checking out information on different things, and decided it was finally time to jump in a become a part of them.
My name is Audra and I teach middle school in Virginia. I have been overweight as long as I can remember, but it's gotten worse in the last few years. I tried Weight Watchers a couple of years ago and lost about 12 pounds, but then quit. This winter the scale hit 241 and I realized that something had to change. I had already begun exercising (after paying my gym for nothing for a couple of years) with a friend, but wasn't seeing any results with my weight. In January I broke down and bought a Bodybugg. Since then I have lost 37 pounds by being more conscious about what I'm eating versus what I'm burning.
Summer has proven difficult. During school I have a set routine and I move around A LOT when I teach, but in the summer I am home much more often and don't really have as much space to move around. I've still lost a bit since school let out, but things have slowed and I wasn't doing so well with the eating thing. This week I decided to give South Beach a try so I have been here quite a bit reading up on it. So far it's helping me stick to a schedule and it's not as hard as I thought.
Sorry for the book, but thanks for all of the useful information here!
