Default Anyone else losing slooooowly?

Hi everyone,

I just started htis journey about 6 weeks ago, but the scale numbers are moving ever so slowly. I'm trying not to get too frustrated, but I've lost only about 3 lbs total. Just looking for some reassurance. I want my clothes to start fitting a little bit looser at least...lol. One thing that is hitting me hard is PMS. The water weight gain is just ridiculous. I look forward to more losses....just venting I guess.

I totally hear you....I used to be able to lose so easily. I am a teacher, so summers off can be dangerous for me, especially with friends and neighbors who love to drink (and then eat). I worked so hard this summer, and only managed to lose 3 pounds, and then live in constant fear that 1 beer will put me right back up there! It is very frustrating!!

I'm a teacher too!! How funny! I hope that our hard work eventually pays off soon. I want to just feel "lighter" if that makes sense....

At your weight, losing more than 1lb per week is likely to be a combination of both fat and muscle, which you don't want. Someone who is obese or more often, morbidly obese, can create a larger calorie deficit and see loss quite rapidly in the beginning.

At 6 weeks, you are doing just fine. With a calorie count that is just below maintenance, it can often take 4-6 weeks to see any sort of change, if you are still preserving muscle while losing fat.

In other words - you are doing just great

I'm in special education. This upcoming year I will be a coordinator for our program.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I guess I needed to just vent that I'm a little more than frustrated at my progress....I'm determined NOT to give up!
