Default calorie counting drop out?

i've been calorie counting for about 3 weeks. Working out for between 20 min and an hour 5 days a week.....weighed in today....I gained.

I eat about 1500 cal a day. i know that ww is a form of cal counting, I've tried it before and lost 80 lbs.... i just though cal counting would be easier, but am really, really tempted to go back to points, since that's what worked for me before.

I've read about people who chose cal counting instead of ww, but anyone have the opposite experience?

my goal is to lose 30 lbs by 1/1/2011... i weigh about 180 now.

Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. i don't mind counting or logging, but I also want some sort of result... i'm not e xpecting to lose tons right away but in 3 weeks i would have thought i'd lose something.

Perhaps it's time for this prodigal daughter to return to the ww fold/

try this:

http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/

I follow WW but try to stay within the calories intake that the plate says, even though I know fibre and fat also play a part in it all.

I like the plate. I'm online all day for work, so it keeps me conscious of what I'm eating before I eat it...

I do the same as Melissa - WW and the calories in My Daily Plate. Sometimes I have to use WAPs to get to my calorie count (which is only 1337). I get 18 points a day. My plate is very easy to use and has a huge database of foods, brands, and restaurants. You can also track your exercise there.

For me, I just track my points. I thought about doing Daily Plate too but I don't want to become too obsessive (I have eating issues). I like WW rather than calorie counting because I don't obsess over the number since you're *supposed* to eat all your daily points. Furthermore, you benefit from choosing healthier options since they are lower in points and more filling. It also makes it nice to not have to count every little calorie since a lot of foods I know are 0 points. And of course I enjoy the support from the WW meetings.

Calorie counting sucks big time, i have tried doing it and for sure didn't go that far, i joined WW just a few days ago and i have to say, it's hard but beats calorie counting.

Maybe you can try both, and see what discrepancies between the two are? A lot of the major success stories on this board came from CC. My doctor did recommend WW.

Really, we need to stick to whatever it is we enjoy, so do what you need to do! (Although, I think you might give CC longer than a week.)
