Default Headaches after working out...

Hi All ...I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago and started working out about every 2-3 days, just doing cardio right now, mostly treadmill and some eliptical...I have found that everytime I work out I get a headache about a half hour to an hour afterwards...I dont wanna stop exercising but I also dont want a headache every other day ...anyone experience this and have any ideas on how to stop them?

I thought maybe I was over doing it for my fitness level but I am just doing about 30-40 mins each time, not at a crazy pace either...maybe I am not hydrated enough?

Thanks,
Carri

could be the hydration thing! make sure you drink plenty of water before during and after. probably need to have a healthy snack after too just to keep blood sugar level.

I get them all the time. I remember a couple times I'd get to my boyfriends house in TEARS because of how bad my head hurt. I found that when I was killing myself at the gym, if I just slowed down to a slower pace for a little bit it would make my head feel better and I wouldn't get headaches as much.

I also should have mentioned that I take a water pill for my high blood pressure, which is controlled - so maybe it is the water thing, I probably already going in a little dehydrated and then sweating so much during...will up my water intake and see how it goes

Thanks for your imput.

If water doesn't work, try a beverage with electrolytes. Gatorade and Powerade both come in low/no sugar varieties. I used to get horrific headaches after all day ultimate tournaments or long runs, and an electrolyte drink solved the problem in a way that a combination of water/pretzels/fruit never did.
