Dinner at the Airport

  • I get to have dinner at the airport (after security check) tonight. Its going to be fun trying to pick something healthy and light, and then guestimate the calories that I'm consuming.

I'm actually trying to save up some calories today so that I'll have a bit more to spend tonight on dinner so I can compensate for guestimating.

    Wish me luck ladies!
  • salad time - dressing on the side.
  • Good luck! I'm sure you'll have a nice, healthy, yummy dinner!
  • Does the airport youre going to have its food-places listed on its website? Maybe you could "pre game" by looking at the menu's online and picking out what you can and cant eat, that way you are prepared! GL!
  • I'm at 800 calories for the day. And since I did not exercise this morning and won't get much exercise today, (and alot of sitting) I'm goign to try and keep it to a 1200 day, which allows me 400 for dinner.

Of course, I could go over, and it would not be the end of the world. I should have up to 1600 cals alotted.
  • If in doubt, broth (not cream!) soup with no toppings is pretty much never terrible, nor is a plain chicken sandwich. And those airport prices will keep you from overdoing it!

It all depends on which terminal I fly out of. The restaurants are pre-security and I'm not going to eat until after I clear security. But it really depends on which terminal I fly out of whether its the small one with just a starbucks and magizine shop or if its a bigger one with a bar.

I think I'm going to go for the deli vendor type places that have the prepackaged salads or yogurt parfaits. I'd probably be happy with just a piece of fruit and a piece of cheese. But looking at my current breakdown, I need more protein for dinner tonight. My protein/carb/fat ration is a little high on the carbs for what I prefer. Those sugar coated pecans and pinapple on my salad at lunch were a little high in sugar.
  • I travel a lot, and I usually bring my food with me. But I find that a turkey sandwich, if I can order it, like at Potbelly works pretty well. If you get it with no cheese or mayo, it's not too bad.

The other option is to get a sandwich and an apple or banana, then throw half the sandwich away!

Like that quote, "what kind of a sandwich is the best kind to lose weight? Half a sandwich!"
  • Settled for a roast beef panini. No mayo. Just had half and saving the rest. I was quite hungry so I ate fast. I'm still hungry but will drink my water and if I'm still hungry in half an hour ill finish it. If I'm not hungry it will go to the rats.
