Hi, everyone! I was so happy when I found this site. I'm a 34-year-old divorced mother of one. I have to lose weight and get my life back. I weighed *** this morning. It seems like so much weight that it will take forever. I know it's worth it, but I'm afraid I'll give up. I must NOT give up!!
I don't have a particular diet plan that I'm following at the moment. I'm tracking my calories on LiveStrong. I exercised today for the first time in a very long time. I want to lose about *** pounds. I think I'll focus on smaller amounts at a time so the number doesn't seem so daunting.
I look forward to making some new friends here who will maybe help keep me on track for the long haul.

Reason: Removed weight
That's a great idea to focus on the smaller amounts. I quit worrying so much about the time when I finally figured out I will have to be very mindful of what I eat every day forever and I had to give up the "crazy eating." So once it was not like "I can't wait to go off this diet" I started feeling more calm. I'm sure the last 10 pounds will take as long as the first 30, but whatever. Just remember, you don't have to be at goal weight to feel 100% better. One week of healthy eating and exercise will have immediate benefits in self-esteem, energy, and yes, looser clothes! GOOD LUCK!
I have some good news for you. While your ultimate goal may be a long way off you will be reaping the benefits. feeling and looking better long before you reach that magic number. Success isn't just making the goal, it's the whole process of taking your life back.
Success is felt with the first few pounds ... then just keep going and you will reach your goals. 3FC has been a huge help to me and I know you will love it!
Don't be shy about posting and asking for advice and support. It really helps!
I know you can do it! Take it slow. It's not like you only have a certain time where you can lose weight and then it won't happen anymore. Integrate it into your daily routine (exercise, good eating) and you will be amazed how well you do. : )
I feel much more confident after reading these replies. Really, it shouldn't matter if it takes a very long time to get the pounds off. I'll be thrilled just to go for walks with my daughter again.
I don't want to get hung up over numbers on the scale.
Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.
