Default Binged...Now what....?

I totally binged for dinner. Had way TOO much, I know it. It's not nearly as much as I use tobinge on but it feels like it because I have shrunken my stomach. I'm too afraid to put it in my food journal!

Where do I go from here?

You move right on.

I had a terribly off plan weekend...ate crap Saturday and Sunday, but Monday? As guilty and gross as I felt, I got right back on track. You can either let this "binge" take you back or shake it off and move forward.

Put it in the food journal.

I second to put it in your food journal. I just ate too much for dinner, too, I ignored my calorie allowance andd got swept off my feet by the food... think of it this way, it may be more than you wanted, but you realized it, and stopped it, and didn't let it trigger a huge 'your weight in food' binge. It may be more calories than you planned, but it's still a heck of a lot less calories than it could have been, than it would have been...

Log it, make a note that it was a binge and if you know it, why. (ex: binged because I waited too long in between meals)

Then just move on.

I agree. Write it down. Accept it, move on, start fresh tomorrow. It is a million times better to stop now, get back on track then it is to just keep eating off plan. You probably haven't damaged yourself as much as you think!

Not only do I agree with all the above posters, I will add that if you want to counter the binge you can lower calories for several meals until you've compensated for the binge. It might take you a week even if you really binged or want to spread it out but it's an action that might make you feel more empowered.

And yes, write it down in the food journal.

NGAMO.

No Guilt and Move On.

Observe what happened... journal about it if that helps... try to pinpoint the triggers that caused the off-plan choices... plan other strategies to try next time you're in that situation... and let it go. Remember that this "binge" was much less than it would have been six months ago. In that, you had a successful night! Something is sticking, even in the midst of off-plan choices.

Today is a new day. And tomorrow. And tomorrow. You CAN stick to your plan!

Yes...write down that you binged, forgive yourself and hop right back on your regular plan again.

Just put it on your food log - over estimate to be on the safe side - and just move on. Nothing you can do about it now. This is a victory anyway because you recognize you overate and now you will recognize beforehand next time and maybe make a different choice. View each event - good and "bad"- as a learning experience. Keep on keeping on!

Write down what you ate, and move on. We all fall off the wagon one time or another, but we need to move on and do better tomorrow.
