Hi chicks! I had a great weekend with a long time friend that I had not seen in two years. It was wonderful. Equally wonderful was the fact that I stayed on track despite two restaurant meals and wonderful leftovers. I am so grateful for the wilingness to try.

I fixed my anti-virus problems - that's amazing because I am basically 'computer challenged'.

back to my basics again - workinng on:

fork down between bites
slow mindful eating
TASTE the food
no seconds
eat seated only
plan, log, measure, count calories
lots of water
exercise/spontaneous exercise
leave a bite
remember why I need to do these things

breakfast - egg white scramble with ketchup, peanuts butter toast, blueberries

lunch - rice cakes with refried beans and cheese, steamed brocoli

snack - fiber cereal, fruit, milk

dinner - morningstar garden burger, cheese, pickles, salad, evoo, vinegar

snack - yogurt with fruit

Everyone....have a GREAT day. Remember to treat yourself with kindness.

Oh MJ. Are we living the same life? I am back in it again this week after taking a 2 week break from exercise. It wasn't a planned break, really. I had one week that we were staying up late to go to the Junior College World Series games. Didn't get home until 11:00 or so, and just couldn't get up the next morning. The next week was just a series of excuses. But, I told myself that I have to workout every day this week... or else! My son asked what "or else" would be, and I told him I don't know. I just have to work out. I'm paying the price this morning. I did the Body Pump class and I STRUGGLED! I'll be sore later.

Anyway, back on track. Back to posting here. Lesson learned... again!

Beverly: Glad you're doing so well!!!!

Good morning!

Beverlyjoy--what a wonderful weekend you had--good job and congrats at staying on plan!

mj5--Good plan with the workout clothes already in the car. You are setting yourself up for success!

This weekend was totally on plan. Kept my calories hovering around 1500. Had a great swim lesson-really learned alot.

Here's the rub for the next 7-10 days. Saturday night I had an old tattoo reworked and now I can't get in the pool or I risk infection. Ugh. I am really missing the pool already but have decided to make myself accountable to you ladies and state that I will get on the treadmill everyday for 30 minutes. I am also lowering my calories this week because I know the treadmill is not going to burn the calories like swimming does.

Here's my plan for today:

B- protein bar, black coffee
200c

S- prunes, nuts
270c

L- Turkey wrap
370c

S- Gr yogurt/fruit
180c

D- pork chop, veggies
435c

S- vitatop muffin
100

Total-1555

Have a great op day!

Hi chicks!! Yesterday was a healthy day - always grateful for that. I ate in my calorie range, had lots of water, did my gentle stretches, ect

I need to really concentrate on the 'living with food' tasks. I am letting them slide a bit. The hardest one for me is turning the tv off when I eat. This is such a big part of my meals. Hmmm...I'll keep working on it. One would think it would not be so hard - but, I am used to it that way. Of course, then I am less likely to be thinking about the food. DH will not turn the tv off when he eats. He is truely supportive in my weight loss - but, not this.

I will work on these too:

tv off
fork down between bites
TASTE the food
slow mindful eating
eat seated only, no seconds
feel fullness
leave a bite on the plate
plan, log, measure, count calories

breakfast - morningstar bacon, pnb toast, blueberries

lunch - salad with chicken, apples, cheese, lite dressing

snack - fiber cereal, milk, fruit

dinner - cabbage soup, garlic bread, steamed asparagus

snack - cinn. toast, cocoa

mingle - sorry you are not able to use the pool for a while...the treadmill is a wonderful substitute for now. Good job on your on plan weekend.

slash - your break from exercise is in the past...I know you can get back to it. Slow - so you aren't in pain. Carry on!

mj - good job putting your gym gear in the car!! Be kind to your knee.

Shout out to anyone stopping by.

Okay, so food isn't going wonderfully this week as I already had to come home and eat late.

However, 2 days in a row exercising like mad! Woo hoo! Now if I can just keep this going for the summer while balancing my son's play rehearsal schedule.

Good morning, Friends! As of today, I am exactly 3 weeks on plan...21 day! Now, I need to get the exercise going, too. I want some pretty muscles and I want to rev up the old metabolism.

Have a great on-plan day!

Good morning everyone!

After a long, hard weekend with food while family has been visiting I am back on track today. So far:

B: 1/2 cantalope and 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese

I will get some sort of exercise in today and drink lots of water. I have weigh in tomorrow. I'll be happy if I don't gain.

Went to spin class this morning. Yep, I can tell I haven't been there for awhile. But, I made it through. Whew. A little sore, too, from weights yesterday. I'll keep plugging along. Food has been ok. Just sticking to what I know will fit within the calorie range. Drinking water has been on track too, so that's a plus. Keep on keeping on!

MJ - Work is a really big pain for me too, right now. Hang in there!

TXMary - Way to get back on track! Good for you!

Rhonda - You should be so proud, 21 days on plan! (I'm on day 2. )

mommyfat - Keep going with the exercise! That's great!

Beverly - My husband is like that too. Gotta have the TV on all the time. I wish we could turn it off for meals.

ANewCreation - Good backup plan, using the treadmill. That's good!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey kids! Everyone sounds like they are really on top of things!

Beverlyjoy--totally understand eating in front of the tv. I don't have it licked either.

mommyfat--good job with the exercise!

Rhonda--21 days on plan. That's awesome--great job!!!

TXMary2--crossing my fingers for you! Sounds like you're doing a great job getting back on track.

mj5--good attitude! My new tattoo is a winding leafy pattern around the lower arm. I love it because it covers the old faded tattoo from 30 years ago.

Slashnl--Wow! I'm impressed with your workout routine--you go girl!!!!

B--breakfast snadwich
255c
S--prunes/nuts
270c
L--protien bar, fresh fruit
300c

Total so far: 825c. I have no plans for dinner and the hubby just walked in off work early. But, I think I have a good 700c to play with for dinner and a snack.

Edited to add: Dinner: turkey wrap: 390c. Coming in at a total of 1215c. I am saving a vita muffin top for a bedtime snack=100c. For the day I will be at 1315c. Lowest day yet--woohoo!

Today I walked on the treadmill for only 20 minutes. BUT I was at the mall with a friend for over 4 hours so I'm really hoping someone will tell me I got in enough walking today--PLEASE! We ate lunch at the food court at the mall. So proud of myself--took a protein bar in my purse. Got an iced black coffee and a cup of fresh fruit at the Starbucks. Normally we eat out at a real restaurants when we go out but she was gracious enough to work with me and what I needed to do. What a good friend she is!!!

Went to the doctor this a.m. and got a shot in the hip to help with the bursitis so I'm looking forward to feeling better soon.

Off to spend time with hubby. TTYL--continue to do good work my friends

Hi chicks - yesterday was mostly healthy - but, I gave into temptation in the evening. My friend came over for lunch and brought warm zuccini bread. I made up the excuse that I am watching my sugar- that I would have a taste later - using that excuse to not eat it. I actually got through our lunch with that warm bread right by my plate. I should have thrown it in trash when she left. Last night I ate two pieces before I went to bed. I broke my own 'rule' - when in doubt...throw it out. But, today I am planning for a healthy day.

The good news...I am down one more pound. The best part of this is my next mini goal is onederland....199.

I did, however, eat two meals with the tv off. Ya know - it's too lonely...just me and the food. (with the tv off)

breakfast - grits and cheese, strawberries

lunch - veggie and cheese omlette, pnb toast

snack - fiber cereal, milk, fruit

dinner - blueberry 12 grain pancake, sf syrup

snack - rice cakes and lc cheese, fruit

anewcreation - wonderful job on all that walking and having a great calorie day too. Carry on!

slahnl - sounds like you are getting into your routine and rhythm - great!

mj - hope you knee is calming down. Drink that water. Plan plan and plan some more. You CAN do it, friend.

txmary - so glad you are back on track! Last weekend is over..forgive yourself and do what you are doing...hop right back on that plan!

rhonda - three weeks on plan!!!!! I am doing a happy dance in honor of this. Carry on - you WILL rev up your metabolism.

mommy - kudo's on that exercise. Plan, plan and plan some more.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning friends! Today was my weigh day and even after my difficult weekend of eating out I still lost 1.6 pounds! I am now down 20 pounds!!!

Yesterday was a struggle to stay on track. I was in the calorie range needed, but I really had to fight off wanting to eat more. I can only assume it was triggered by 3 days of eating out and not enough exercise. I made it through and fell asleep on the couch watching my soap - without food!

I never did exercise yesterday......honestly it is so hard to be motivated to exercise in this heat. The pool reopens today though and we will be there this afternoon and the exercise will happen!!

I haven't even had my coffee of breakfast yet today so I am off to do that.

I hope you all had great yesterdays and have a wonderful day today!!!

Good morning, ladies!! I hope you are all doing well (and it looks like you are!)

Had a super busy & fun weekend camping. I'm proud that I managed to stay *mostly* on plan. Saturday was a struggle & I know I ate too many calories, so I was disappointed in that. But other than that, I did manage to stay on plan with both food & exercise. I even attempted running two of the days!! I would do walk 5, run 10, walk 10, run 10, walk 5, for 40 minutes total. It felt good

Beverlyjoy - great work on staying healthy during your friend's weekend visit. The temptation of zucchini bread would have been too great for me, as well. I like your "when in doubt, throw it out" mantra!

mj5 - good for you for getting back into exercise!!

slashnl - great work on the spin class! I've always been too chicken to try one!

ANewCreation - good for you for having a plan in place since you are unable to swim this week. And GREAT work at the mall & sticking to your plan!

mommyfat - great job on the workouts!

Girlygirl - 3 weeks on plan - that is WONDERFUL!

TXMary - glad you are back on track after a busy, family-filled weekend. And many congrats on your loss! 20 pounds is AWESOME!!

I'm so, so grateful to be back here from the weekend away. I didn't realize how much I relied on the accountability & support of this place until I didn't have access to it for a few days!

Have a wonderful, healthy day, everyone!
