Default Belly :(

I don’t think my belly is ever going to go away and it has been driving me crazy. I see pictures of girls at my weight (around 170) and around my and it seems like they all have flat (or at least flatter than mine) bellies and mine seems like it is still huge and is hanging down a little bit (kind of like an apron) and not flattening out. I think I might have to get a tummy tuck eventually.

But does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on anything that I can do to flatten it out a little bit? Food/exercise/etc?

Just stay on track. You are doing great!

Don't fret too much about the belly til you get to goal and see where it is at. It may surprise you!

I've heard that what you want to go first is what will go last, so just like astrophe said - keep on doing what you're doing, it may surprise you in the end

Everybody is shaped differently, and I just remind myself of that. I've always had a little pooch, even when I was MUCH lighter. And my girls (4 and 7) have the same sort of pooch, and they are very lean vs. their heights according to their pediatrician.

I have also been told to give your skin a year to bounce back. It took awhile to stretch, it needs some time to recover

Jessica-keep doing what you can to keep healthy. When you get to goal you will see how everything is laid out. In the mean time keep losing and toning.

Keep going girl!

I am your height and I weigh 152 right now and I still have a little bit more belly than I want but it has gotten a lot better with the last 10-20 lbs lost so don't give up. I can wear lots of pretty things now that I would have felt very uncomfortable wearing before because my belly showed to much.

My husband took me out and bought me two summer dresses from Target that I never thought would look like anything but a maternity dress on me and they look pretty! So try different things on that you might not normally try and see if they help camo the belly until it decides to go down for you.

Congrats on your success this far and keep doing what you are doing!

Oh there's much more *improvement* headed your way.

You will be shocked to see just how much your body changes as you head closer and closer to your goal weight. If your tummy is your *worst* spot, that most likely will be where the fat will stay for the longest. It could be the very last 5 lbs off, is when you will see DRASTIC improvement.

Hang tight. Stick with your losing ways. There's much more good stuff headed your way.

Cool

Im in the same boat , even tho im heavier than you . even when i was smaller the muffin top was still there its so annoying as ive not had kids yet.

My plan is to lose as much fat as i can of my abs then start exercising my abs , as i know crunches etc can build muscle under the fat and make your belly appear bigger

I cant offer advice just a sympathetic shoulder , as i totally know the feeling

I have the same problem. I hate it. Altho at time I lose more in my belly. I think it also depends on how you put the weight on. I have 2 girls. My first was when I was 17 and I had no fat with her. When I got pregnant with her I weighed 130 and the day I left the hospital I weighed 140. Now with my second I gained 80lbs cause I was on steroids. I never lost that weight. Now that I have lost 65lbs when I am naked I look about 6 months pregnant. So I hope that it goes down the more weight I lose.

Good luck just keep doing what your doing. The fat has no coice but to go away

you look GREAT, congrats! core exercises are good for the tum tum area. I like doing crunches, I found that I had to do leg lifts too (the crunches do the upper muscles more). I was told to concentrate on pulling the stomach in. I do bridges too.

Congrats on the weight loss so far! That alone is awesom. I would add more strenght training in and also add more core workouts such as planks, crunches, ball workouts are great all. What about yoga and pilates?

Thanks for the advice everyone i haven't had kids yet but I have had the problem ever since I was little so it will probably be last to go!

I have done yoga before but not too much and I have never done pilates so i might have to look into that and definitely more strength training
