Default Spironolactone making me sick

Ug- so I finally get on a dosage of spironolactone that is good (200 mg) but apparently I can't take it. I did my FIRST dosage of 100 mg last night, didn't take one thing morning, and I'm SOOO sick.

Any tips on what to do to help? I already plan on calling the doctor and telling her I'll do 50 mg twice a day until I can move up in dosage. My other doctor had me at 25 mg and that didn't bother my stomach- so I'll see if I can slowly increase my dosage or of I can just stay at 100 mg a day.

I think I'm going to ask the boss if I can go home early today...

Sorry that you feel yucky!

It sounds like you have a sensible plan of attack already though.

GL!

Yes, splitting 50/50 twice a day is a sensible plan. I started off at 100 mg with few problems (general tiredness and bathroom issues for about a week, but nothing I couldn't deal with). When my endo agreed to up me to 200 mg, I took an additional 50 mg for a week or so before adding that final 50 mg...it helped to go up gradually, I think. Good luck!

I have problems tolerating both Met and Spiro so I take supplements instead. Cinnamon for Met and Saw Palmetto for Spiro. Works great for me!

Thanks- yeah I'm still tired- everyone at work is like "you okay?" I'm like meh...

I am going to wait till this amount I'm taking levels out and then go up like you did Blu. I think 50 and 50 for now is good till I get settled then I'll add another 50, then see how I react. I figure at least 100 mg a day is better than nothing.
