Question My Fitness Pal - question about exercise calories

I am wondering if anyone else uses My Fitness Pal and about what to do with the exercise calories? The way they show them on the homepage makes me think that I eat them? But I don't know so I am asking.

For example: This is where I am at for today. My goal calories is 1900, so far I have entered 1795 which (on sparkpeople) would mean I have 195 left to eat. But if anyone could clarify I would appreciate it.

Goal + Exercise - Food = Net
1990 + 653 - 1795 848

I use My Fitness Pal and I love it.

I think they're going on the assumption that when you work out, you lose calories which means you gain some more for the day. So, you can partake in eating some of those calories back if you wish or not. I generally eat some of those calories back but I don't eat them all back. Does that help?

it confuses me as well. I don't eat back my calories at all. I stick to 1600-1800 and whatever i burn is awesomesauce! I use daily burn and it includes exercise in my deficit, but luckily it doesn't change my target calories.

I use My Fitness Pal too. And I view it like highflyer does. It works for me and is a convenient tool.

I figure all of these calorie trackers are just guesstiments and we should take them as such. So much depends on our individual body types, our activity levels, our age, etc.

If we expend more calories than we consume, we will lose weight.
