Starting over
Hi all,
I'm Linda and I desperately need to lose some weight.
I'm currently at 198 lbs and I really need to get down to around 140-ish. Part of my problem is that every time I start taking my weight loss seriously, I get pregnant! Lol, really. My second baby is now 6 months old and I'm 8 lbs heavier than when I got pregnant, which I'm not too upset about. At least I lost most of the weight easily.
I'm not planning to have any more children though so at this point I really really need to get healthy. I know I'm at risk for diabetes and heart problems and all kinds of issues if I don't fix things now.
I'm actually quite excited about getting fit again, I've joined the gym 2 months ago already and then got the flu which I'm only now getting over. Hopefully within the next few days I can start exercising, woohoo!
I'm loosely following the Weigh-Less plan, I think it's specific to South Africa (I'm in Johannesburg). It's a formula based plan with a specific set of portions of carbs, protein, dairy, veggies, fruit and fats on a daily basis, with specific foods allowed to be chosen as portions. It's generally varied enough that I can have a lot of different meals (I get bored easily) but the portions aren't large and I need to get used to eating just enough, not until I can't have any more.
Plus I'm in the very bad habit of having something sweet after almost every meal, I just had some lunch and now I'm craving chocolate but I refuse to give in!
Anyway, I look forward to being on this journey with all of you!
