Default Late night eating?

Hi everyone, I was just curious if anyone had opinions about late night eating? I get home from work aruond 6, work out, and don't usually make dinner until my boyfriend gets home around 9. I am not making anything unhealthy it is just I am eating around 9 and going to sleep around 12-1..is this negativley affecting my weight loss? I have heard many things regarding not eating a certain amount of hours before bed, and I just wanted to know if anyone knew the truth behind this!

Thanks all! Hope you're having a great day!

I haven't read any research about it,but have talked to several people who have lost a significant amount of weight and they said one of their "rules" was no eating 3hrs prior to going to bed...so sounds like you're right at that mark...it'd be different if you were eating at 9 and going to be at 10 or so...

If you feel it may be hindering WL, then maybe try eating before he gets home and then to spend time w/him, just sit w/him as he's eating...just an idea

I think the "no eating after X" stuff is really about stopping excess eating: the eating people do after dinner is usually more about boredom or entertainment than about hunger. Basically, if you took any 3 hour period when you usually snacked and made it a "no eating time", it would help with weight loss.

This is also why it would never work for me. I'd be terrified of being hungry later, so I would eat more than I wanted right up to the line, every day.
