Default Anyone Have a Good Oatmeal Recipe?

I can't stand oatmeal but I think it would be good for me to eat on this SB diet. Does anyone have a good recipe for it? My mother said to put butter and bacon bits in it and I tried that...I could eat it if I HAD to but it wasn't pleasant!

I thought bananas, raisins and honey were off-limits for SB.

I like to add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, cinnamon and sweetner to my oatmeal... I have also added applesauce to it... Sometimes I use the fat free flavored liquid coffeemate as a flavor booster... I hope that this helps... For added health benefits some sliverd or sliced almonds are great too!

My favorite kind of Oatmeal is either Irish Oatmeal or Scottish porridge, they are *chewier*

Have a really tasty oat and bran cereal recipe:

1 cup rolled oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
1/2 cup bran cereal, uncooked
3 tablespoons toasted almonds
4 cups unsweetened applesauce or 1 1/2 c. apple juice/cider
3/4 cup chopped dried prunes and apricots
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Combine all ingredients, cover and refrigerate overnight.
Serve cold or heated, topped with skimmed milk.

Penny,

Just wanted you to know we have a SB SUPPORT BOARD right here on the 3FC'S site and there's a ton of recipes on the boards.

You are more than welcome to join us at any time! Here's a link to the boards:

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/foru...php?forumid=85

If you have any questions, just post them on the SB WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD which is dated, so you just want to look at the most current board.

Continued success to everyone here!

I like the McCann's Oatmeal better than the run of the mill brands. I make it with half water, half milk. Normally I add some milk, brown sugar, fresh blueberries and fresh strawberries. In the absence of brown sugar, substitute Equal.
